STAGE 4 TRACKING

STAGE 4: SAN JUAN > CHILECITO

Connection 211km | Special Stage 657km | Total 868km

COURSE OVERVIEW

The strategy of the motorcyclists will come into play: initially their navigational skills will be seriously tested at the beginning of the morning, and then they will be faced with the problem of worn tyres, as they have already been over-used the day before. As for the drivers of cars, they will have an even more demanding route to tackle in the countryside. The Dakar’s competitors haven’t faced a special stage this long since the historical one from Zouerat to Tichit in 2005! They will have to cross rivers, descend the canyons in a Wild West setting and beware of the other participants: as these terrains are often wide open, it will be entirely possible to overtake fellow competitors.

The GREEN section of the route is the connection , the RED is the Special Section of the stage.

They could get it cheaper from Pistol Pete. I am sure he has surplus.

That's asking a lot even of the mini team! lol

Free can of WD40 with every bottle purchased. Baja prep formula of course.

Ya know I got my first set of BFG All-Terrains as soon as they came on the market. Like 1978? The first set was free and after that they were pretty cheap, like $30 each. If you did well with them in races they were free again. So for the last 35 year I have run BFG's on my trucks. But, I sure am impressed with the Toyos! I need to buy tires soon and maybe I will buy a set.

wonder what they had to do after the 3rd or 4th flat since they only carry 2 or 3 spares. Do they patch em up and air it up or wait for the tire carriers?

Nasser said he had to keep stopping to reinflate the tyre as no more spares. He carries 3 spares for that stage.

I know Al-Attiyah won't be carrying anyone else's anything.

you got that right it was just what I was thinking

See what happens in a few hours, lets hope its all good---in the AM-- gas on RG..
