STAGE 2 TRACKING

STAGE 2: SAN LUIS > SAN RAFAEL

Connection 365km | Special Stage 433km | Total 798km

COURSE OVERVIEW

The fastest special stage of the rally, at least for its first part, will also be the one where drivers will have to face the first dunes. And it won’t just be a brief encounter with sand: in the last 100 kilometres, the exploration of the grey dunes of Nihuil will be even more intensive than during previous visits. The sand is more firm there, but the experience will provide a great deal of insight about each of the competitors’ technical skills. In short it will be a veritable test.

The GREEN section of the route is the connection , the RED is the Special Section of the stage.

14:41 Cars: Technical problems for Sousa
News at last about Carlos Sousa who has still not reached the CP after 259 km of the car special stage: the Portuguese driver has been racing his Haval with a broken turbo from the 33 km point.

What we know is Robby has the 15th best time thru 259KM so far according to Dakar.com

just my opinion but... why cant Dakar have better live tracking. seems in years past that they updated at WP more often.... just signing on... any news on RG

15th car through WP4KM259, according to Dakar.com....So, the question remains, was he physically the 15th car through ( but could be better than a 15th place car?) or did he actually record the current 15th place time at KM259.

Well Roma and Sousa have had problems so if RG started 17th he has physically passed those two on course at least resulting in I assume being 15th on course maybe. Who knows we are guessing here..

They only track on CP's, not sure why they don't have one for the cars today. Maybe so we have to pay attention to their twitter for updates? :P

More focus on their end-of-day recaps ? They could do a better job because we've seen it in the past
