With the 2014 Dakar Rally beginning in less than 45 days, here is a brief F.A.Q.

  1. Is Robby Gordon racing in the 2014 Dakar Rally? YES!
  2. What is the car number? 305
  3. What is he driving? A new design - called the HST
  4. Who is the navigator? Kellon Walch
  5. Is there going to be a 2nd car? No
  6. How come we haven't seen pictures of the car yet? It's still being built
  7. When will we see the car? Mid December
  8. Will the race be televised? Yes. NBC Sports Network TAPE DELAY recap show.
  9. How can we follow the rally? You're already at the right place.
  10. When does the rally begin? Stage 1 begins on Jan 5th.

Robby did say 'truck', not pick-up.We haven't seen the complete picture yet.I'll bet the chassis (the thing that counts the most, IMO) is as Robby said,a truck.The ERV that Eric and BJ will be driving is really a Bugly with a pick-up body.So is that a truck? Not in my opinion.

The body is SUV like and to me an SUV is a truck. Like you say the chassis is a truck also.

Mike, is the chassis of the "Roberto's Gordini" HST that Tim Noske posted on November 25, 2013 a "truck"? All of TOG's rear deck photos are a perfect match for it.

And now that you mention it, my son has a Traxxis RC car that is a truck, but with the back bed covered similar to this concept.

Is RG in the US working directly on the HST body? I suspect much of the team then would be with the Dakar equipment...

I would think the body has been finished for some time. These teaser photos we are seeing could be 6+ months old

It takes 13,352 minutes at an ambient temperature of 85 - 102 degrees fahrenheit at no less 13 pounds atmospheric pressure for carbon fibre at 8 mm thickness to fully cure into a workable state. From this information one can derive a minimum age be it truthful or in fiction born in for instance fashion a meaningless conclusion not worth mentioning given the fact that statistics show a majority of the general population having an at or above average general realization quotient believe information that is relayed or presented to them in a format that which fits an underlying prerequisite of believability in the understanding that in order to hide their onw ignorance will take as fact .................most bullshit.

There are limits. RG Marketing Machine is getting close to those. If I don't get a decent picture of the Dakar Truck within a few hours time, Iam going to trade in my US branded Dodge Truck for a Mini and subscribe to Peter Panhandle's website. I am serious. TOG are you reading this?
