Robby Gordon confirmed entry in the Dakar and rumor has it he will go for his last chance to grab Victory. With the mighty Hummer sold, his new truck has some big shoes to fill. At least it will not be Robby's driving skills that prevent him from the title! Robby Gordon Motorsports

Is the HST car/truck sitting on the trailer really Robby's 2014 Dakar racer? Do we know this for sure, or are we speculating based on someone finding photos somewhere?

The HST in the photos looks to be under development to me. I say this because of the minimal amount of frame work around the spares. I would expect to see a rear push-bar, and possibly left and right attachment points for the rear cover.

In regard to the basics of the design, the HST looks perfect as a Dakar racer. Looking forward to watching Robby wheel this thing on a tight winding road.

Regarding the name, "The HST" seems like an appropriate choice. It fits the SST theme. So what's HST stand for? Something Super Truck. That's my guess. I can't think of something good for the "H" right now.

Maybe Hummer Super Truck?

Maybe. Not a bad guess. To me it's time to move away from the Hummer name. Let the Hummers be the Hummers. They will still be in the Dakar. This alone is awesome.

I'm guessing that's a bad guess.

Boy oh boy, I must have been hittin' the crack pipe last night.

Seems GM does have some new midsize pickups coming out. That would be quite the bomb if Robby had GM sponsorship, and Robby's Dakar racer had GM new vehicle exposure attached to it.

Plus, is the H3 completely dead for GM? Worldwide?

Maybe you are right JR, maybe it is Hummer Super Truck.

I will read around more later.

Hummer is no longer a brand. Completely dead.

Its kind of become the RG signature. Unless factory $ show up, a change away from it wouldn't make sense.

I think it's interesting to see the stats of the rig.

Yesterday I saw two brand new Brenthel ruggedized service trucks chasing around town. I thought, "Man, those are nice!"

Today I read this: http://brenthelindustries.com/2013/09/brenthel-industries-launches-...

A great Dakar is shaping up.

Robby posted on RDC today "The vehicle here is just a test mule, you will like the race HST :-)"
