Thanks for the info. I tried to stay up last night on the chat but I just could hang anymore after 2 when I fell asleep I think. From the chat, the census was that the tracking was terrible so I didn't even try to fool with it and just stuck to reading the chat. Just curious how his time compared to BJ minus the broken spindle. Sounds like he was flying though to come on with a sixth place finish with the downtime and driving the whole thing.

Did BJ drive the whole event or did he get a break?

@Charlie,BJ solo'd.The finishing interview was interesting.Robby was describing swapping with BJ.Up until the spindle broke it sounded like a hell of race with several players.
Everyone has camera's on board, hopefully footage will become available.

Very frustrating to try and follow as a fan not actually being at the race. I know its hard but i'm sure things could be a lot better. Dirt live kept bragging about people all over the world following the race. I'm not so sure about that. They may have tried to follow the race.

Yup, trying to follow the race was very hard. I agree that I can see people getting frustrated and giving up trying to follow. Trying to see where anyone was at was almost impossible, ok maybe impossible at times.

The tracking sucked but I will give them credit for the webcams . That was kinda cool . Would've been cooler if there were more of them . Maybe every 100 miles or so .

Especially if this is your first time following the race. It was hard enough for those of us who knew where to look for stats and info (only to find very little). Some of the pieces are there to make following the race better but the execution so far has been rather lackadaisical.

I don't know anything................................I recall as a young child I could slid the painting over a bit and watch through a hole in the wall my uncle as he was watching an account of some race in "Mexico"......Are we not a race from from Mexico I pondered..one day I asked him what that was and how we fit in.......he sad "Mike my boy...that's called the Mexican Rally.........that was Jim Mckay talking......I could never look at a Ford Bronco..or was it an International Scout.....hhhhmm....the same. That was the best coverage of any race you ask for. In my eyes and in a childs mind it is disheartening to watch as the world accelerates and receds at the same time. Grainy images and half truths conerstoned by realism is KING over failed potential, curruption and predetermination. Sadly that day as I recall was also one of being made aware of the booby trap......which when I looked proudly at my grandfather made me feel pain and shame for his culture.....soon the wounds were healed by the realization that this country has far worse than giggling booby trap builders but swine and philistine who have stolen from the forefront tradition and honor and replaced it with profit margins, prerequisite............and stemware filled with one form or another of Decapod Crustaceans on to which the demons feast.............But enough of how I think I enjoyed the rally more as a child than I do now it's easy enough to simply say that for a race in existance for so long how come coverage is so bad..........Oh yea money....I guess that's what I was saying along.............nice race Robby sorry a part failure croaked a year of lookin forward..........cudos to one all ............

Mike, I'm reading your post after writing mine below. Your post gets me thinking about the Mexican side of this. Did you notice that the chat at the SCORE site was mostly in Spanish. This race is very much a Mexican race too. If my dream of a better quality production ever came to be, we (or they) should not overlook the Mexican, and the Central and South American race fan too.

Heck, maybe the whole broadcast thing should be produced by a Mexican company/group. I know if I produced it from the US, I would be hiring plenty of Mexicans. I would look first to Mexican aircraft, and Mexican camera crews. There's big benefit to this. Maybe the best production would be a joint effort. Too much of a Mexican production and they might cut out the English language part. Haha!

Great race. More history was wrote with the passing of Kurt, thanks for the Memory's Kurt. On to the next mission .....Dakar. In finishing I would and we all should thank the site guys for opening chat for the race. Thanks WJM and Mike For all you do here!

So who was first TT in? I'm seeing BJ at SCORE site, but most of the time I don't know what I'm looking at there. Any news yet on what the race was like at the front? Menzies, Rob/Andy, and BJ looked to hang close up front? I'm guessing...

Interesting stat on RG. Fastest - while rolling - on course time? Am I hearing this correctly? Didn't produce a win, but still a notable stat.

The 1000 is a grueling ass kicker, plus you run half the race in the dark. Crazy race!

If SCORE has any interest in reaching the general race fan population, there is much they should do different. We all know the simple feature of a tracking system failed. Heck, the Planeteers will gather over a tracking system.

My guess is that there is plenty of on course action. More than in Dakar. I bet there were a few passes up front in the TT's. The only ones around to enjoy this are the rabbits and the drivers themselves.

From the idea files: Make the 1000 a two or three day event, and run only in the day - yes Dakar style. Get lots of cameras out there, plus high flying aircraft and helos. Make it something race fans can enjoy. Do I have the SST attitude or what? There's a lot I like about SCORE. I even like George and the two girls that worked with him, but SCORE is hometown, almost family style, and old school.

yep, from leesburg fla, what?,tracking was a bad joke, there was none, scores sucked, dirt live at least did something, tryed to show how easy it was to use scores tracking, that was funny,i try to watch every year, every year i shake my head,a 10year old could have done a better job, robby gordon and bj are the show,
