Chilly has a good write up here - http://www.enduro360.com/2013/11/07/blog/chillys-baja-1000-preview/
Note the substitution of Mark Samuels for David Kamo on the 1x. Mark has the speed to run with the big dogs, but the question I have is; does he have the experience to knock out his section and keep the team in the hunt? If he does, he has a good chance to earn a spot on the "A" team. With that question and the addition of Kendall Norman to the KTM squad, I'm going to change up my usual pick and go with the KTM this time. Heck I'm even going to go so far so far as to change my usual side pick that the TT's or a Class 1 will beat the bikes on time this year.
Let's see your picks!

I forgot my long shot,145x Colin Edward and crew

Only 2 bikes in Class 50. Damn, Mike. We coulda got a podium.

Will is old enough to ride the 50 class

Err, yeah sure. If I bump my head a few more times, I'm in.

I'm afraid because the Helo's can only be in the air for 10 of the 24?hours it would take to run the race.I'm afraid I'd be laying in the Mexican desert for a long time. Yes,that's my way of say'n the motorbike start time is stupid. And I,pray no one dies because of it.

Now it's looking like David Kamo maybe back on the 1x after all. Fastest recovery from a [rumoured] shoulder injury I've ever seen

.

I gotta go with the 2X. After all, my initials are KTM. Didn't Caselli overall a rally this past summer?

Correct Kevin, Kurt won the Desafio Ruta 40.
Now for the wild card; Quinn Cody posted on fb this morning a cryptic little tidbit. "I didn't expect the wake up in Baja, but OK". No word on if he may be riding or anything, just that post with a late sunrise photo. Things that make you go hmmm...

2X Norman is just what they need.

That's what I'm thinking. My guess is Norman gets on the 2x and Hengeveld hops on the 4x around RM 150ish. That will leave 1x to play catch up all day [and they will]. This is going to be good.

Qualifying Results
1 2X Kurt Caselli KTM 00:05:41
2 1X Timmy Weigand Honda 00:05:43
3 4X Robby Bell THR 00:05:54
4 349X Francisco Arredondo Honda 00:06:04
5 9X AJ Stewart Honda 00:06:10
6 27X Brian Garrahan Kawasaki 00:06:18
7 11X Dustin Paloposki KTM 00:06:19
8 111X Cody Schafer Kawasaki 00:06:32
9 304X Mike Meyer Honda 00:06:32
10 304X Mike Johnson Honda 00:06:34

Did anyone see who rode the 2x for the qualifying lap? It is my understanding that the qualifying rider must start the race according to the new Roger rules. So far I have Udall starting 1x and Hengeveld starting the 4x. I'm still waiting on your side bets for the leader at 6:00 am Friday (that's local or PST).
