Even though Robby Gordon will not be racing at Daytona, here is a thread for those who still WANT to talk about Nascar and their first event of the year. Duel races are on Thursday ( Feb 21st ) and the race is on Sunday ( Feb 24th ) . Here is a snapshot of the backup car from 2012, many didn't know it was a black.

2013 NASCAR DAYTONA 500 about to start. Aside from not having Robby Gordon part of the show, it looks good and so far a good race weekend - NASCAR will continue...

That race was a 3 hour plus ballet with a cute ending..............a "wardrobe" malfunction if you will with that ball of tin costing Keslow a win.

Jimmy crunched the car so he could get past tech. Cheating Chad with the complete game plan,Chads the best

Smokey Yunick would be proud..........

Really missed RG in Daytona, but I found myself rooting for Dave Blaney just out of habit.

As did I. Althought it wasn't like I was on the edge of my seats as in years past, but I did keep up with the 7

Missed him too. 12 years since RG last missed a speedweeks. Sucked, time to move on unless something drastic happens. Hope SST gets him the exposure for Speed he needs to make one last run at NASCAR.

too bad for old time sake and for the #7, it would be great to see speed energy on the car, for at least one race, even if Blaney drove it.

Yeah, that would be slim to none. And slim just left the building.
SPEED on Lofton's Truck is the only place you will find it

A 100% run at NASCAR, yes, I agree. But a chance that we will never see RG at any road course or drafting race again, I doubt it.

I think .........Whoa I cant think "that" hard... I can summerize though I'm good at it..To sum up. If Robby Gordon is going to race in NASCAR ...in a road race....In a current teams car....In this season.....at any level......in the rain......in the sun.....he will do it for only two maybe three reasons.........and I dummerize....one of them will be to do what someone else wants him to do. He's built a career doing it that way. I mean summerize. My shit will be getting tighter and tighter as the entry list for Eldora starts to take shape I'll admit that much.....................That would be nice....a truck laying around...a few hard working days and nights to be a part of what will be FUN FUN FUN................F.nuuff.

I would look at what TOG had said in the past with RG not showing up at the Glen last year. My reasoning would be that RG would not want to show up in a back marker car, and not to mention this is not the Nascar of the 90's where the majority of the drivers were not good at road racing, now they are. I doubt that RGM has even converted and or built a Gen 6 car and there past fleet is unfortunatley worthless exept to a fire sale to a small Nationwide or ARCA team to convert the old chassis. Besides those chassis have to be getting old anyway. It is unfortunate, because I will be the first person to say that I miss RG at Nascar races, he was not competitive in the least the past years (except at Sears Point with the Monster livery) but I still enjoyed seeing him on track. SST and off road is where it is with RGM now, intresting to see the direction and curves in the road that Team Gordon has gone through since going into Cart in 1998 and then eventually into Nascar, but you have to appreciate the fact that RG is a true maverick and his own man .
