We might as well have a catch-all thread for bikes, so here it is.
The lead up with the Johnny Campbell and Honda has been covered here-http://www.planetrobby.com/group/planetbikerbar/forum/topics/honda-...
Now we can post all Dakar info in this thread, with no holds barred [or maybe no stone un roosted would be a better term].
Here are the hype video's from the main players. It seems to me the marketing guy's have really stepped up their game to give us some really bitchin hype.

From the KTM-

From the Husky-

This would be what it looks like to enjoy the Dakar this year-

From Tobias Younger's twitter - just read that my friend @KevinMuggleton #186 tried flying across the dunes & fractured l2 vert. he's back in lima. damned sorry for him.

qty 12 or #12 ?

Team update.

Kevin fractured his L2 vertebrae but is doing fine. He is on his way to Lima, but I was able to talk to him at the medical tent. It was on a steep dune drop (!!!). Paul Jay, other UK rider also crashed in same spot and is out with dislocated shoulder.

Marco and Mateo are kicking butt. Bikes are in very good shape.

Luis had problems yesterday with new carb. Swapped to old one last night. But he still out in the course and rumored to have seized the motor. We're standing by to replace it tonight.

From the will they make it? file

#150 is the KTM150 2 stroke ( I might be heart broken if he's out)

Dunes alittle too much for the 150?

That was close.

better to be lucky than good sometimes

Team Redverz - Kevin Muggleton to Dakar 2013 (Facebook page)

Update. Yesterday I went over a dune and broke my back, the dakar air ambulance was there in minutes and quickly filled up with other riders at the same scene.

After flying to Lima I'm immobilized here for 4 days before I fly back to Denver and will need surgery for a few pins in my back.

I replayed the scene many times, and other than the benefit of hindsight, I would have taken the same line, and speed 9 times out of 10.

Going into this Dakar I felt strong mentally and physically, and didn't get enough days under my belt. My body will heal quickly, but unfortunately the Dakar is the most addictive and expensive drug you can buy, and its hard to give up.

Perhaps it's premature, and I'm high as a kite on morphine, but I now have everything I need to run the Dakar , and if the Gods and stars are aligned I want to race Dakar 2014. 345 days

Thank you all for your support and kind words, it hurts more than you can imagine to let you down.
