The economic problems of the country will touch every aspect of our lives.
Robby has a new truck for the Chula Vista race in December.
They're on TV on Oct 26. They did cancel a race at Primm this year but BITD didn't have the Caliente NV race too. Money is tight but I can't see them going away completely. I expect to see more races get cancelled this year but not gone forever. If anyone hasn't watched CORR, check out the website for broadcast info, lots of fun.
Robby was out west testing for Chula Vista before the Barrett-Jackson I heard. I LOVE what they do at Chula Vista!! It's the coolest course. They plan to do something like that in the Decemebr BITD race in Hernderson(Vegas) I heard.
Fine, let it collapse. Then RG can come in with all the Pro2 and ProLite and Super16s teams and start a new series with pit stops and 100+mile stadium races like NASCAR but in the dirt. Then he could merge with Sal and have a true Championship series that races 20+ times a year in both short course and desert to crown the true off road racing Champion every year.

It would be very cool to see Big Daddy Menard also buy BITD so the races are across the US and Mexico.

The Media package would be huge compared to what the three seperate groups do as independants today.

All legal, marketing, admin and race cordination efforts would be consolidated to focus on one effort. It could be Huge.

The Purses would expand equally.

It's a buyer's market.
but isn't that a fairytale??
You, I like.....
Robby Gordon Off-Road Stadium Series. Look how AMA Supercross has flourished since its inception. I took my boys to the indoor AMA Endurocross event last month here in Denver. The placed was packed and the racing was totally insane.
Damn , that would be cool.
We'll just have the US Government Off Road Racing Concern, it'll be GREAT!
good one......lol
Someday, all those HumVee drivers are going to come back home and want to race their shit again in the desert... CORR could in a few years see a surge in participants. Oh! I forgot the economy is toast. No sponsorship and no Domestic manufactures.
It was announced yesterday:

CORR Statement
Championship Off Road Racing Cancels Final 2008 Race

Newport Beach, CA (November 14, 2008)— Championship Off Road Racing has regretfully announced the cancellation of its final race weekend of the 2008 season scheduled to be held in Chula Vista, California on December 6th – 7th 2008.

Championship Off Road Racing, CEO Jim Baldwin made the following statement:

“The current national financial crisis has impacted our series to the degree that it has become impossible to produce the quality off road racing experience that our fans, racers and sponsors have enjoyed. While it has been our most sincere effort to hold this final event, every possible avenue was exhausted before reaching this difficult decision. Although we have been forced to prematurely end the current season, we are strongly committed to providing the ultimate off road racing experience on the most extreme tracks while continuing to grow the sport. We apologize to our sponsors, teams and especially to our loyal fans for any inconvenience that this has caused. Our commitment to this sport, sponsors, the teams, and fans that support us is unwavering. We will continue to vigorously pursue our objective: To build the most exciting nationally recognized short course off road racing series in the country.”

CORR is in the midst of establishing a solid 2009 race schedule. This confirmed schedule, to be released shortly, is comprised of twelve rounds of racing to be held on six weekends in 2009. There are currently discussions underway with the objective of increasing that number to as many as eight race weekends and 16 rounds. We are working to assemble a revised business plan that will reflect the steps necessary to overcome the current economic challenges. Our sponsors have shown us that they understand the current economic climate and have expressed their desire to participate with us in seeing this sport blossom. The significant investment made in CORR has brought huge crowds, national exposure, and some of the most exciting racing ever seen in the dirt.
