It's official: Camping World is to be named the new title sponsor for the NASCAR Truck Series this afternoon, according to ESPN.com.

At a 2 p.m. teleconference, NASCAR CEO Brian France and Camping World Chairman/CEO Marcus Lemonis will announce a multi-year deal, and further details on the partnership will be announced, as well.

Camping World has become a prominent sponsor in NASCAR over the last year and is a perfect fit for the truck series as sponsor for the series.

The RV and outdoor camping retailer is a sponsor for Kevin Harvick, Inc., sponsoring Ron Hornaday in the No. 33 truck in the series and for Kevin Harvick in the Nationwide Series. Both Clint Bowyer and Robby Gordon have part-time sponsor deal with them.

Over the season, they have add race sponsor deals with various tracks in all three of the top series.

With Hornaday, they won last years truck championship and 65 points from repeating as champions this year. They would make history, being associated with Hornady as the first back-to-back series champion.

Camping World will continue through 2009 being the primary sponsor for Ron Hornaday's No. 33. But will no longer sponsor KHI in the Nationwide Series. I wouldn't be surprised to see one of their sister companies like RV.com continuing on past 2009 on Ron's truck, but sure they'll help KHI with finding replacement sponsors.

At least for 2009, Camping World will continue as title sponsor of Camping World Series East and Camping World Series West.

NASCAR having a title sponsor also sponsor a vehicle is nothing new. Jimmy Spencer drove a Winston-sponsored car back in 1998-99, with Winston being the title sponsor of what is now the Sprint Cup Series.

NASCAR also encouraged Camping World to continue as the No. 33 sponsor, which they will do through 2009, when the current contract ends.

Camping World, sells, rents, and services recreational vehicles and camping accessories. The partnership comes as great news with Ford cutting financial support this week in the series and with Dodge leaving the series.

Hopefully having a title sponsor will keep GM from also pulling the plug also on the series.

That's got to be a deal with a butt-load of escape clauses.
Robby has no more future deals with Camping World and that was straight from CEO Marcus' mouth at Dover.
Saturday night before the Dover race, Marcus was sitting at the table next to me in one of the new restaurants at the Dover Downs casino. The las vegas truck race was getting ready to start , and I noticed him from TV- I said hello to him, he saw my #7 hat,we talked about RG for a few seconds and I asked if his company was going to have any more involvement with RGM in the future, and he said no, that his company was not going to sponsor RG this year or any year afterwards. Nothing negative was said.
+25 bonus points everytime Ron Hornaday leads a lap! LOL
10-4 on that. Camping World "debuted" a tent/store at Dover this past September and had a ton of inventory and long lines of people spending money. It was kind of a junky setup though, but they got something good going.
So by 2010 when no one is left but Toyota will the change it from a pick up series to an actual RV racing series?
Great angle for Mac Tools, Snap On, Huskvarna, type sponsorships for the individual teams!
That would be cool until you got beaned with a 3/4" socket.
I'm just relieved that Camping World took the deal, for what it's worth. It's going to cost Harvick sponsorship on his Nationwide team, & from what I've heard, even Hornaday's sponsorship may be scaled back with KHI looking for an associate sponsorship on the #33 truck team.
I'm still ticked that Napa didn't take the deal. I was really looking forward to all the trucks having that Napa cap on top--to hell with aero. But why not make all the trucks look like small RVS or make them tow pop-up trailers, that could draw a crowd.
Beats a flat head screwdriver nailing you in the forehead at 160mph....
that'll leave a mark......
offspring i could not agree more.servicing rv's for race fans is not going to go far most of your race fans are back yard mechanics and fix there own shit
