2012 Bristol #1 Race Weekend Info & Discussion

Join in here and discuss all the weekend action for the 2012 Bristol #1 cup race. Robby Gordon will attempt to qualify the #7 SPEED Energy Dodge into the field. Here is the weekend schedule for RGM at the Tennessee track. UPDATE: Robby Gordon had to withdraw after the McClaren techs couldnt diagnose the problem with the EFI/ECU shorting out. Car would not start.

FRIDAY , MARCH 16th

Practice 12:00pm - 1:30 pm/et ( TV - SPEED )
Qualifying 3:30pm - 4:30 pm/et ( TV - SPEED )

Second that. They haven't been prepared for 3 years. I honestly think, and have thought for 2 years, that he should run whatever races he plans to actually race in.

I don't think TV time is a good thing under these circumstances especially when your looking for sponsors. Seems they only discuss RG when it's negatives.

Only 18 minutes left in practice. Still no 7. They said they can not get the engine to fire. NOT GOOD.

What happens when your motors aren't up to par. You have to spend money to compete. If not, don't race.

I hear that. I faked a broken leg to watch the NCAA Tourney and catch Quals. I guess I better get started on the Hopps and Barley so I don't feel the pain when I have to break my own leg come Monday..

Hopefully qualifing is like golfing. The first swing is usually your best. hopefully Robby gets his best and only lap in a couple of hours. Or we can start a rain dance.
