@FD, I also think it's the electric lift pumps.I don't think it's vapor locking as much as the lt rear pump cavitating and seizing ,tripping the ECU.and the rt rr pump bleeding off on the lt pump.maybe ditch the lt pump or one-way valve's off the pumps and seperate curcuits.Just guessing from my couch.

Yes! you are right, those lift pumps CAN NOT RUN DRY at any time because are cooled and lubricated by the fuel that the are pumping so when they cavitate (run dry) even for a second, cause all kinds of havoc in the power supply B+ sensor and bearings in the pump, so when this happens several times the pump becomes inefficient drawing more current and pumping more air into the system. your idea of check valves will help. We had tried two pumps in our fuel delivery systems and no matter how we configured them one would ALWAYS pump air into the lines at some point when the fuel level got low. Ended up with one pick up pump in a shallow pick up basin (about 1 qt) and a simple sensor in the tank so when the tank went dry a fault light came on then 10 sec later the engine was shut down buy the ECU, this made restarting easier because the lines were not full of air. The pump was powered by two seperate feeds with re setable breakers one manual and one auto reset.

Robby. I've followed you since you started racing every thing from OFFROAD, INDY and NASCAR. I have been your #1 fan all along. It makes me feel you don't have your head in the game when it come's to Nascar. You have even said that maybe it's time to turn the wheel over to someone else, maybe you should. I think your not happy because you can't contented with all the big boy's. I know you can when it come's too offroad and you have proved that all along. I think you should step aside for now and check yourself, go and have some fun doing what you love doing. Quit spreading yourself so thin with everything in your life. I will always be a fan of your's but it's hard to cheer you on in NASCAR. I know I'm not a person to talk and would love to do half of what you do when it come's to racing, but come on. I know I'll probably be kicked off planetrobby for saying this, so take care race fans....

The only problem is $$$$$$$$$$$$$

You need to listen to a few of his audio interviews from the past week. Educate yourself to his current dilemna

RG explains it all crystal clear.

Ya know fellas and gals this is the way I see it. I was riding a horse one time and began falling off, and as I slid off the saddle and was losing my mount I guess they might say the horse kicked me in the mouth. It's a good thing I was laughing as it was happening or I would have gotten a fat lip. Think about it and perhaps the little mouse that comes out at night in wisdom as much as fright can someday be your equal.

I love Robby, but not qualifying for the Vegas race is just pathetic and tells me a lot about Robby's Nascar program this year. I really wish Robby would go race for RCR or Rousch and show people that when it comes down to driving talent Robbg is in the top 3 as far as Nascar goes. The reality is that will never happen, because Robby loves being his own boss and making the decisions, especially at the last minute, which is his biggest downfall.

On the other hand he will be more than ready to take his anger of not qualifying out on the desert of Mexico and I look to see him leading by RM30 and checking out after that. If he doesn't break, I don't see anyway he can lose. This is first San Felipe race I've missed in 9 years and I'm missing it badly.

Bummer on missing San Felipe, but at least you can get some highlights here in the next few days. Hopefully that'll ease your pain a little :)

????? missing San Felipe??? He missed Vegas not San Felipe.

They are talking about as spectators

Reading more would of helped me out on that one.....lol

Not sure if this has been said yet so sorry for a repeat comment or question:

Looking back over the last 5 years at Vegas Robby qualified 17th, 42nd, 15th, 32nd and 31st. The majority of those events he was already locked in and focused on the full race. This year the sole focus of the team was qualifying and he qualified last. I didn't hear any commentary about the car itself. Was the car way off and the team was unable to make the adjustments or was it the power under the hood that failed RGM. If it was the car that's one thing but if it was the engine then it only goes to show that the Arrington power is just a viable solution and the only way to be competetive in Sprint Cup is by having a top notch engine program or leasing engines from one of these teams. I am not saying RGM needs a Penske engine but if he wants to race a Sprint Cup race at a 1.5 mile track, he needs to rethink the engine program. They started with Arrington motors last year and if memory serves, the 7 car missed a few races with that engine. Cost cutting is efficient for RGM but the results are not there.

Here's a shovel full O' dirt about the Vegas race. Here's a ray of sun shine about San Felipe. There's a fork in the road follow us, join our merry group.
