Hated that he did not finish, but the RGM business model worked vey well for Daytona. Survival Mode!! Better than no RGM at all. It will get better, drink SPEED, on to Phoenix.

Does Arrinton R6's equal the old 2005 Menards motor program? Only time will tell!

Menards motors missed the 500 just sayin

Not at all.RP engines are there own genre. Robby had his own engines the last half of last year. Racing engines fail fact of racing.

37. David Stremme, Toyota. Blown engine. "oh well"
40. Jeff Gordon, Chevrolet. Blown engine. "that's racing"
41. Robby Gordon, Dodge. Blown engine. "Armageddon"

WJM are you sure its Armageddon? or is it Deep Impact? I always get those two movies mixed up.

in Jeff Gordon case when it blew it blew and when it blows like that fans cannot have regrets

if robbbys had blown like that and at least got a tv replay out of it I think people here would be less upset

I think we were upset because Robby did not seem upset at all on the radio and it seemed more like it was a planned start and park from his reaction.... he did not show the passion he had on Thursday trying to get into the race on the radio last night

Jeff broke a crank. Throw that motor away. I am glad it didn't blow like that. In fact I am less upset that it didn't break a crank. RGM can rebuld a motor for about $10K. Be grateful it did not make the highlight reel.

I would imaging it was hard for Robby to get too excited when his engine was a "F'n dog" but he was racy right up to the end. he was running with the 34, 99 etc. Was working with the spotter seemed to be on his game and a second later. "motor blew". one big difference in th RGM S&P era is it serves no purpose to fix it and go back out 15 laps down. Your finish does not dramatically improve. The old Jim Beam RGM would have done everything to gain each spot.

Through the distillation of last nights race it's not very hard to see that there was a pretty good chance, a fair chance for those open minded enough to just step back and realize the one reality that matters, that being, there is a hefty paycheck in the box, there is a healthy chassis in the shop, there are folks who have jobs, there is always tomorrow. Those being condensed into one entity. Through the comforts of sitting in front of your keyboard with your fuzzy headed pencil holding troll as your personal cheerleader there is also a reality, one that will have you make outrageous claims and accusations, germinated from seed to stem with the empowering life force known as BULLSHIT. There is no such thing as "lets spend a ton of cash on an engine from Penrod and if we win we will be forever blessed". The Wood brothers won the Daytona 500, have been in this game forever and other than celebrity status for the driver the only favorable fallout, it did not however enhance the financial ability to field a car every week. Look I guess I'm talking to the wall if not just the few who seem to know better than everyone else but in the end the public has a short memory, no loyalty and for the most part are led around by a bullring known as commercialism. Until the day comes when there is a cash cow giving milk at will things are the way things are, and folks LIKE MYSELF have to eat crow and not blast off selfish fits claiming to be a financial know it all and such other tell all. It sure would taste good today to be at work telling Jeff Gordon fans how we were running as high as 2nd at halfway and that if we did not have our car shredded in one of the 78 crashes we might have won and how Jeff blew up and how this and that and those and these and they should if when can we why not. If I hear Danicrash Patrick one more time (wrong thread).......
I'd love to be one of the gang with a hang over spouting sentence fragments (used once before) about how "I" was hoping that we would go for the win or how "I" would have got Dodge to (Dodge don't care I'm sorry but if they did they would have more in the game) or how "I" wanted. Love in selfish fashion is a hat that has no style, it feels good when you wear it but to everyone else it looks terrible. I tried to hit on the maid and she told me I was only hitting on her because she was the maid. How could she lower herself to looking at herself as a maid when she should have looking up to herself as someone that was being hit on by me. What kinds of maids are we folks? Gas On

This is getting more like Celebrity Apprentice and less like racing .

+268,150. Well said (as usual) Michael.

Example of hindsight

  • It's easy for us to say that the decision was wrong, but we have the advantage of hindsight.
