STAGE 10: Iquique > Arica
Connection 317km | Special Stage 377km | Total 694km
COURSE OVERVIEW
The drivers will be overcome with even more intense sensations early in the morning. It is precisely at the beginning of the special stage that they will be deeply moved by a spectacular view, combining sand and waves, which continues for several kilometres. The theme will remain constant, since the most experienced experts will be able to surf on the dunes which stretch out for around a hundred kilometres. On the other hand, the difficult fesh-fesh area that will have to be tackled at the end of the special stage will bring everyone back to the tough reality of the long-distance rally.

Sit and wait. Or rather keep the hammer down and wait. The ruling on the appeal may come down by tomorrow or it may come down after the race is done.
10-4 hyteq Thanks
I had not read that...the part with Coma. Wow , crazy stuff going on down there....
whatever the outcome may be, this puts a black cloud over the rally.
should Robby get DQ'ed then the dakar rally will be dead to me.
On a different note, does anyone know what happened between WP 5 and 6, which looked like it was going to be good section for Robby, with sand and soil/sand? He wouldn't have been behind Peterhansel and had the issue with him, if he hadn't fallen behind prior to 6. Know it won't matter if DQ'd, but still interested.
So does "we got off line and he passed us" mean navigation error, or that he drove it off line?
I think the A-arm was hanging on the ground by then
the part hanging at the front was parts of the front 'splash shield'. It's the part hanging of the rear control arm that may have been a problem.
It was after cp6
Oh, well def didnt help either way
Isn't that when they had the nav issues? According to PH's quote on the Dakar site "We overtook him when he made a navigation mistake"
Ya, he tried to pass the 9x chump...champ, sorry. Peterhandler....I mean Peterhansel also said something about as Robby was passing, he went off a small cliff & Stephanie thought he rolled it. Once Pepe Le Punkass saw Robby was still Toyo side down, he stopped giggling like a schoolgirl, realizing the American wasn't going to be done yet.
Who knows how fast Robby was going when he "clobbered" that rock, & "exploded" a rear drive wheel, after running/being run off whatever cliff. Point is, I'm amazed from that math Robby kept her right side up, & mostly together. Not to mention only losing minimal time. It's purely my opinion, but it seems the ASO is as worried as Peterhandler about the Dakar going the way of the Tour De France. Known for being dominated by a lone American who just won't quit.
