Give me another belt, this time no ice.

Real short here guys but I was shocked to see such a thin belt Nasser was holding, that thing looked like, well a..............light duty belt. yes I know my place and if it is on the car it is good enough but never having seen one first hand I was a bit surprised by what was responsible for his demise. And he spoke the truth not in hummer they are not coming back with that body right??? For me that's short.

Belts just do not break or not often, there must have been somthing wrong causing the belt to break. My guess Nasser put it on upsidedown:)

This is the most likely, as a bent pulley would have been obvious, and it is not common to bend a pulley except in impact-----not likely with rear engine. Possibly seized alternator, or idler pulley, or bearing gone in alternator allowing play in the pulley permitting misalignment---specially since several belts failed.

You're spot on, something got bent and the accessory drive started eating belts. The belt didn't wear out, it was shredded which is what happens when it jumps out of line. As the accessories are hard mounted something got bent. Shame.

BTW, I didn't take Nassir's comment to mean "I'm not driving a hummer next year because Robby isn't bringing hummers" I took it to mean "I"m not coming back with this team". Maybe I'm a skeptic, I hope I'm wrong.

Who knows what exactly caused it but Nasser had some input to that issue on the rest day. RG talked of it at the end of the eurosport vid at the end of stage 8. Nasser put his foot down, got his way, and the next stage he's out. Racing deal.
