STAGE 9 TRACKING

STAGE 9: Antofagasto > Iquique

Connection 9km | Special Stage 556km | Total 565km

COURSE OVERVIEW

A two-part stage will keep the competitors busy who continue the climb to the north of the continent, between oceans and mountains. Two sections separated by a neutralization are on the agenda with varied features and landscapes. At the beginning of the day, the competitors will pass through canyons, drive on clean tracks and sink in the fesh fesh?! The second special stage will call upon the drivers' and co-drivers' navigational talents, who will have to make a decision based on the very limited landmarks, while remaining focused on the WPM. To reward them for this intensive endeavour, they will drive down the steep descent to Iquique, already featured on the 2010 Dakar route, to the shores of the Pacific Ocean.

if that was RG on video he would have a penalty already

SP should have been more careful but it doesn't look like a serious issue to me.

So if that one Truck got excluded for hitting one of the cars, he should in theory get excluded for hitting one of the bikers right?

it would seem???

Looks serious enough for a penalty though...

At least a good ass whippin'.

Are you kidding me?! What the heck was Peterhansel doing?! Wow...

He's thinking he's got a big Orange Hummer eating into his time

I think at first glance he was committed to getting out of the river as he did not want to damage the electrics or engine in his car, but to apparently drive off knowing he made this type of contact is what I find a bit unfortunate, especially as bikes are his roots.

It's a shame, I was enjoying the open respect between him and RG... So I will wait his explanation first.

well lets say it was like a person hitting a bus... you may not know... the bus got hit but it does. whatever. glad robby finally got the stage win. SO HOPING THIS IS THE YEAR FOR HIM AND DAKAR

Seeings as the biker bounced off of the RF Fender right infront of the co-driver (Mini is left-hand drive right?) atleast the Co-Driver had to know that they made contact.
