Robby Gordon & Nasser Al Attiyah Dakar Stage 1 Quotes

ROBBY GORDON - " We were setting a fast pace until we saw Nasser stopped at the side of the special's course, less than 2 km from here, and I stopped to tow him. This has cost us some time, but I am especially concerned about him. We will make the exact diagnosis at the bivouac, but his car simply refuses to start. Perhaps there is a problem with the oil pressure, the petrol... I do not know."

NASSER AL ATTIYAH - " We had an engine oil pressure loss and preferred to wait for Robby to tow us to the finish, since we did not want to damage the engine... We will see, but this does not look good... And, whatever happens, this is not a good way to start the Dakar! "

additional quotes will be added here.

"Me, too!"

I'm dying to know WTF happened but.... count me in for what you said!

it is only the first stage 9 min. is nothing, hope this is nothing too severe all the years of experience are really helping robby out,imo this is the most grueling test of talent and all-around racing abilty, which is why Robby gordon is the best driver around.imagine how great a win would mean for all involved.he has the ability and equipment to win the whole thing c'mon robby

hey check out robby gordon shred on you tube for some great desert fun

With the addition of Peru & the added Attacama desert stages, they've taken away a big chunk of the Argentine "boomerang" stages where the Hummers aren't at their best. More dunes will get these buggies back in the hunt. If I'm not mistaken, the 2wd are allowed tire inflation systems while the 4wd rigs aren't. This & a number of the gas/diesel, 2wd/4wd rules will help in later stages. Air Et-All will figure out the Hummer. Let's hope the grease monkeys figure out the issue, and no Llamas!

Oil pressure? Fail safe, low oil shutdown? Check the by-pass/regulator in the pump, sensor problem? wiring? Does the engine management system have a diag. connection that the drivers can use? Does the engine mapping program have a limp mode to get running enough to finish the stage? What a drag! Prep Prep..then TEST TEST TEST...= FINISH

Doug DESERT LOGISTICS

(grease monkey)

no kidding! thats racing

James will figure it out tonight, if he hasn't already.

So is Nasser and the second hummer done for the rally?

nope. not at all.

TOG , thanks for the info

Everything will be fine & at the start of stage 2 , RG will only be down 49 seconds & Nasser will look to cut into his 9 minute deficit.

Did they fix the NasserGasser TOG?
