Robby Gordon Monster Energy driving suit / Rick Huseman Memorial fund donation

I called RG and asked if he could help with a donation toward the Rick Huseman Memorial fund.. here is what we came up with.. Bid, Bid, Bid.. this will go to benefit Rick's wife and son, Ricky Jr.. and who would not want to add this to their personal collection.

I dont know how many remember the RB helmet Robby threw at Waltrip. That helmet was auctioned off on E-bay and fetched $50 grand. The money went to hurricane Katrina victims. It will be interesting to see if the 5X Champion JJ helmet will get as much as Robby's RB helmet got.

Who could forget that, NIKAL? That bit still gets air on every show about racing fueds, fights, etc... Heres a fact, I called RGM to buy that helmet before it came to rest at the bottom of the track, lol. Nobody answered of course, & the next week it went to auction. Something tells me I wasnt the only one offering to buy it, prolly the reason for the auction.

I know we paid almost $2000 for the SFI 15 custom embroidered, fitted suit for the monster truck. these things aren't cheap, nor should they be. A great deal for someone, with money going to a good cause too!

I think that RG and all the others who are involved and contributing to not only Dan Wheldon's auction but to also to Rick's is just a tribute to the kind of people that are involved in motorsports on the great page. I take my hat off to them, and I will pariticipate in the autctions however I can monetarily. God, I love this sport. Been very overwhelmed with the response to all sad accidents.

about 18 hours to go on this!!! so far up to $1625.00 with 32 bids. I hope this hits over $2k for Rick's family..

Well the bidding is over for the Monster Drivers suit. The winning bid was $1,727.33. That is much less then if you were to buy a custom Simpson suit and then have all the custom embroidery done to it. But the money is going to a great cause.

Now lest see where the helmet bidding ends at. There is 2 days 7 hours left and the helmet is still at $6,000.

Was 2nd highest bidder on the suit. Someone sniped me at the last second! Oh well would have loved to win it. I agree on the value. Very cool peice I will kick myself for missing.

If you are looking for a RG driving suit there is a Cingular suit on Ebay right now. The current bid is $640 with 5 days left. The money is not going to charity, but if your looking for a piece of RG history this could be a good piece. Also I dont know the details, but RG has been using Simpson race gear for a long time. During the RCR days Robby was using Sparco driving suits. I dont know if it was a RG deal or a RCR deal. But prior and after the RCR team Robby was wearing Simpson. Just an observation regarding the Cingular suit.
