Atlanta post qualifying quotes from Robby Gordon:

ROBBY GORDON (No. 7 SPEED Energy Dodge Charger R/T): HOW DIFFICULT IS IT TRYING TO QUALIFY EACH WEEK? “The reality is today I can’t find enough sponsors to run the whole race. But if you just stay home you don’t learn. The deal is this gives us the opportunity to come learn and we’re not the only ones doing it. As much as it hurts everybody hearing me do it, it hurts me to do it. I’m a racer and I want to go out and compete and race people but the first thing we have to do is we have to learn how to qualify so that we can race people and we’re working on that very hard.”

ARE YOU ENCOURAGED BY THE RUN? “I’ve always liked Atlanta. Our Dodge Charger is good. It’s our own powerplant with Joey Arrington so we’re obviously making enough power to make the show so I’m happy about that.”

Best of luck Robby.
Better days are coming.
It is sad to hear from Robby but the truth hurts sometimes.

www.aceuniforms.com still behind Robby
I hear ya Eric. Better days are coming. We all dislike the fact that he is not running the whole race, but he is far from done. The past is the past, the future is what counts.
We love him, always will! He's got a ton of fans behind him, his product, his team, and his mission 110%!
Just forget this BS, Robby, and come back to IndyCar. NASCAR sucks and we all know it.
hahaha, you havent been watching the joke they call IndyCar lately and the man who offciates it Brian Barnhart. hahaha

Ya, please Robby, go back to a series thats almost dead.
Here's my $.02:

Like everyone else, I hate not seeing the 7 car run a full race. The bright side to this is that Robby IS at the track, running laps, working on the car and learning. If he puts out his best effort for qualifying and cannot break the top 30, the team is not ready to run a full race and be competetive. This way they can at least focus on certain aspects of the car. This week it's the engine. Richmond will hopefully focus on something else to build for Chicagoland.

The reality is the lack of sponor $$$. The 21 won Daytona and doesn't have a full time sponsor. Matt Kenseth doesn't even have a sponsor lined up for next year. The 6 car is losing his sponsor and he won the summer race at Daytona.. All old news, yes. It was nice when the 7 was in the top 35, but that ship has sailed and RG is back to Plan A for 2011. We get 3 more cup races and then we can all look forward to Dakar.

I have to work today anyway.
You make do with what you have. Clearly I feel worse for Robby and the guys then I do for us fans. It's obviously frustrating to them to have to s&p. At least we have something to look forward to. Sometime in the near future Robby will be running full races and full seasons and we will look back and say "remember when". I enjoy watching good people succeed. So to Robby, TOG and all the guys getting dirty for the cause I say thank you and keep digging!!
So Joey is a Dodge engine builder? So when RObby switches to Chevy, Toyota or Ford next year, will Joey change too?
Ted , good one. LOL
I do what I can :)
