The weekly "will this be a S&P race?" talk is driving me nutty. Same questions, same responses different venue.

I drank a lot in college, but I can still formulate enough short term memory to recall this season was planned to be part time. If you want to see more Nascar racing - buy more Speed Energy Drink.

On a personal note: I think the Nascar series (with the exception of a few races) is relatively boring. For my money, other venues (e.g. Rally) are more interesting.

Now, on to the point of the thread:

I'll start with my usual "Thank You" to TOG for the site - I'm here everyday and appreciate the news.

- Start the Speculation - what events, venues, series, etc. do you think we'll see RG attempt in the near future? (other than Nascar....that's plenty covered elsewhere).

When Red Bull pulled out of Nascar - I saw this as a signal that they figured out the primary energy drink demographic isn't Nascar fans. I tend to agree. My personal observation is that it's mostly 15-25 year old males who drink the stuff.

I'm fairly certain 15-25year olds are not watching Nascar regularly. I'm pretty sure RGM and the folks at Speed Energy know this too.

So - the real question is: What do they (15-25) like to watch...that's where we need Speed coverage/participation/sponsorship.

I'd be intersted in thoughts and reactions to the above

I'd love to see Speed Energy start a racing series of their own. Motorcycles, or lower end "boy racers" on temporary city circuits. Using vehicles that 15-25 year old's like. It would be fun to watch and would probably help sell a bunch of speed.

Your predictions? Wishes?

Technical and gnarly for sure but it doesn't exactly scream "SPEED"
That stuff called "WATER" seems to be the best stuff to transport and drink for this type of an event. The best spots on the course require a good bit of riding or driving. Best done sober and without carbonized drinks. The full blown desert XR 400 is my weapon of choice for this event.
will - Yeah, you got a point there. But damn wouldn't it be amazing to get more people into that sport aslo!

WJM - Look at Tony's ( GenRight's toy) ride for the Hammers, I believe they get up to 100 mph+. But like you guys said, its not a big big market.

Amazing is right Shawn! I don't like to get all political on Planet Robby, but with the expansion plans for MCAGCC , King of the Hammers may just be something we tell the grand kids about. But this is not the site for my rantings on land use issues.

So, wouldn’t it be better if Gordon skipped some races and be better prepared for the ones he ran instead of starting and parking most of the time?

I’ve tried. Trevor Bayne doesn’t have any sponsors on his car and he won the Daytona 500. That’s the reality of it. We’ve tried hard, and this is what I love to do, so I’m going to continue to fight the fight.

“When I can learn to qualify my car back inside the top 15 again, then we’ll worry about racing. We can still come and get exposure. I get as much exposure starting and parking as I do racing. Because the only time they ever show me (on TV) is during qualifying. Right? They only show five cars on the race track. That’s the reality of it. That’s the reality. There’s going to be more sponsors that look for exposure that are not getting the value because the media is so focused on Danica, Junior, Tony, 10 guys.’’
Not to cause trouble or anything, I'm just asking, what happened to if RG is in the car it's a full race and if someone else is in the car (think about it) and Robby (love his style) would never S&P ? Just asking....

wow, straight from Robby.The same things some of us have been talking about for the last couple of years.
Like it,lump it, there it is.
When FOX started smudging sponsor logos during the line up introduction of companies that didn't buy ad spots for the broadcast that was the first hint of things to come and pretty much a death nail for small teams in terms of national exposure for their sponsor, which ironically, is NASCAR's biggest bullet point in securing sponsorship dollars.
