ok cool thanks as always mike
Why is Robby not listed on the qual. order on the NASCAR web site??
maybe going the Elliot Sadler route and racing Nationwide full time is the best way to get the most Speed exposure for this team........ there's much more tv time when running up front...... make sense ?
$$$$
Exactly,$$$. A WIN in the N/W-Truck series is 30k ish (making it a financail loss) the TV exposure for N/W or Trucks is luke warm at best. A CUP start is worth 65k ish. The cost to build a Truck is the same as a CUP or N/W vehicle.Engines being the big difference in expense. Robby is effectively self sponsor'd (pure expense, remember that Robby's goal to print money is to sell a product,Speed Energy) Unlike the government Robby can deficit spend!
so running in the back or not at all can sell more product and makes more sense than running up front and winning races...... ok, just wondering
Got to operate within the budget. Running up front would be great but it also takes crates stuffed with cubic dollars.

It's a Catch-22 for sure. Look at Joe Nemechek. Great qualifier. Has yet to DNQ. But it's not enough to attract a sponsor. Joe knows he can only run x-number of laps to make enough to keep the lights on and go to the next race. Hard to attract sponsor dollars when your only running 1/10th of a race but its all the budget allows. Ask Joe why he doesn't 'just' go all in for a couple of races and see how much sponsor money suddenly falls from the sky.

Better yet, ask Bobby Ginn.
WJM ?
Why you so BAD! lol
Thats why Joe does it isn't it? Put a car together that they know will go fast for quals, get in the game, hello money to pay for the whole Nationwide race. Seems an ideal thing to do to get the dosh you need...
I don't disagree with you. I like Joe's business plan. It makes sense and it works. Could RGM emulate it? Probably. Listen to Robby's post-practice interview. They scabbed together a NW car from a crunched Cup car, no testing, and have been running upfront since they unloaded.
Can't think of any logical explanation why Robby is not listed on the NASCAR website.
Maybe they have updated it but he is clearly listed in the qualifying order on the NASCAR site.
