"Did You Notice? … How much famous drivers charge simply to talk to people? While doing some research, I stumbled across this site allamericanspeakers.com, which matches up motivational speakers with an opportunity that fits for them. So, I started poking around and before I knew it, I was browsing the names of famous drivers and figuring out how much their time would cost.

Did you know … that to bring Joe Nemechek into your favorite birthday party or college event, it’s going to cost you between $10,001 and $20,000? Shockingly, he’s going at the same rate as Chaser Kevin Harvick, who’s had a whole lot more success on the track to speak of. No offense to Joe, but how can you be a motivational speaker when you haven’t been motivated by recent success?

Here’s the ultimate kicker, though: the most expensive driver list on that website isn’t Harvick or former drivers Mario and Michael Andretti. It’s – get this — Robby Gordon. That’s right, for the discount price of $50,001 and above, you can get Gordon to speak at your special event! How in the heck could Gordon be worth $40,000 more than Harvick; does he throw a helmet at the crowd or something? And keep in mind these guys make a living on the race track, not in front of a microphone. How polished are these speaking appearances? Wouldn’t you like to see someone like Robby speak for one hour in front of a crowd?"

The reason RG is so much? He is booked all through next year. Every morning he he has to get up and motivate himself in the Mirror... Chanting:

You will make the chase. You will make the chase. You will make the chase. You will make the chase. You will make the chase. You will make the chase. You will make the chase. You will make the chase. You will make the chase. You will make the chase. You will make the chase. You will make the chase. You will make the chase. You will make the chase. You will make the chase. You will make the chase. You will make the chase. You will make the chase. You will make the chase. You will make the chase. You will make the chase. You will make the chase. You will make the chase. You will make the chase. You will make the chase. You will make the chase. You will make the chase. You will make the chase. You will make the chase. Now thats funny!
Compare Robby's resume to Harvick's - there is no comparison. Robby's got a life outside of Nascar.
On another link they were complaining about Sadler asking a lot of money just for an autograph. Robby does not just do NASCAR - He's a "Hall of Famer" - he does Dakar - He has his own patents, He has the off road shop, the man is worth 5 times MW and ten times Sadler. If he wants $50,000 for an appearance, he's entitled to it. I wish I could have a one-on-one with him to tell him how to make more $$$. I'd like to make him another "Kimora" Joan
While speaking engagements or appearance's cost something-I've never heard of Robby charging for autographs
or fee's to attend autograph session/signings.Mike
Joan - I like that idea. I would watch a reality show that follows Robby -- got to be more interesting than some of the crap that's on tv currently. I remember a couple of episodes of Nascar 360 that featured RG - but they were pretty calm. But I think RG would make a good show.
(P.S. - on 360, Kevin Harvick was hysterical - I was never a big fan of his, but the show really showed his personality and it was funny).
Just because that's what he thinks he's worth, it does't mean anyone is willing to pay it.
Robby speaks for free every sunday morning at his merchandise trailer. All it costs is your time to wait in line.
I have been on a personal tour of Robbys garage and it was about an hour long and he did great. He showed us everyhting from sheet metal to springs. i have also been in meet and greets with him and he still does fine answering questions and asking questions...f this a-hole for doggin him...
So here's the thing, last time I checked Robby (the driver) would make an appearence for $10k/ 1 hr. Thats without any showcar. Now Robby, the "motovational speaker" may cost $50k, but if thats what your lookin for, heres my suggestion. A trained motovational speaker, with years of experience, enjoy the promo video.

RIP Chris, we miss you.
Robby did go to speaking classes WAYYYY back when he was under Toyota's banner for the MTEG (Mickey thompson) off-road stadium racing. He needed to represent Toyota in a "professional manner".
Ivan Stewart also went to them.
