Really bad day today for DEI. It Looks like not only did Paul Menard tell him he and his Menards sponsorship are leaving, but the U.S Army informed DEI that they are signing with Ryan Newman and Stewart Haas Racing and that they are not interested in negotiating for anything in the future. OUCH. What does DEI do now? Look like Martin Truex is tied to a sinking ship. Kinda unfair considering how well Martin and Truex have performed this year.

Thats a blow to the ego when a company or worst a branch of the government says they do not have any interest in negotiating with DEI about any future opportunities. That must tell you how bad things are at DEI when a statement or comment like that is made. A course this is if this statement is true. But still that cant be good considering that the Army was happy with GINN.

I did notice that this year at Fontana the Army did not have any displays like in the past. Last year they had the Army tank simulator, the pit stop challenge, and they were making dog tags for the kids. This year their was two DEI trailers 1 was a Bass Pro Shop and the other carried all the DEI teams in one. So maybe the Army felt that DEI did not give as much as they thought their sponsorship dollar should have bought them.

So who still thinks RGM partnering with DEI is a good thing? Anyone? Anyone?
I saw Truex and Menard run a hell of a lot better than RG last week. I dont think anyone would argue that Paul Menard is a better driver than Robby, but the scoreboard and recent finishes say something is better over there. So if the choice is to stay the same or go to DEI, I will take DEI. I am sick of watching races and hoping we can beat the likes of McDowell and Waltrip,
I still wonder what exactly is going on at DEI that they can't get sponsors and keep people happy. They seem to have good people (John Story, Max Seigal) but is Teresa's overall presence screwing things up? The performance has been there this year, but for whatever reason its a sinking ship. How much do you want to bet that Stewart buys DEI by the end of 2009?
He could get two more cars to make a 4 car team and Martin Truex with Bass Pro as sponsor. not bad.
Because Jr. Nation, and even most non-Jr. fans just hate the whole organization, hate Theresa and the way Dale Jr. got screwed out of his father's business, and she's had so much bad PR that there may be no recovery, they're probably closer to selling than we think. She's invisible, does she even go to the races? She could use Kyle Busch's security when he's racing.
DEI was doomed when they lost Jr last year. This is just the encore to last year.
Pretty much
DEI was doomed when Dale SR. was killed.
Here is one issue... Bass Pro must be pissed because they were convinced Menards and the Army were promised to be at DEI in 2009... The bitch gets her due.... Basically DEI will become a dirt lot with a building and a 7 post... Hey maybe Robby can buy the 7 post, figure out that and run that too...LOL
They bought a 7 post shaker? I thought that was what they were borrowing from JR Motorsports before Junior left....I know it was some large major piece of equipment. I could be wrong though.
They acquired one in the Ginn deal. That was on of the many pieces of expensive equipment Bobby Ginn bought last year before selling out.
Cool. Thank you very much. I didn't know that.
