2011 BULLRUN Race Discussion

This will be the race thread for the 2011 BULLRUN that Robby Gordon will compete in. This year’s rally takes place from July 9th- July 15th, starting in Las Vegas & ending in Miami. Each day will have a different route & the competitors will get their daily route info prior to the start of each day. Stay tuned for more info as it comes in.

Reports of an accident back in Orlando, no one hurt, R8 and other cars totaled. Must of happened behind us...

Running of the bulls

The bulls were running on Interstate 75 last night, and man, were they going fast. Too fast to register on the radar of Alachua County sheriff’s deputies.

Still, deputies managed to pull over some of the participants in Bullrun, a car rally race from Las Vegas, Nev., to Miami.

According to Bullrun.com, “The Bullrun Live Rally is the most glamorous and high profile of the new breed of high-end luxury lifestyle automotive rallies. Each year, a hundred of the world’s finest super-cars embark on an epic eight-day rolling party across the USA – bringing together a celebrity strewn cast of characters and petrosexuals for an unforgettable adventure – where the only obligatory goals are to party, drive and enjoy!”

And, apparently, speed, even though the website states that speeding in prohibited.

“Yesterday evening the Florida Highway Patrol put out a (bulletin) that they had clocked a couple of vehicles at 130-plus. One of our deputies attempted to use a laser to get confirmation on the speed but it was so fast it wouldn’t even read it on the laser,” Sgt. Todd Kelly said. “He did get one of them stopped and issued citations. A sergeant was able to stop one between Archer and Newberry. They had a film crew with them for a TV show on Bullrun.”

Even just trying to drive the speed limit in Florida is hard to do... lots of elderly folk

Speed Energy tweet dude missed Robby doing donuts in someone else's car...the tire marks looked impressive though
