I always get excited when road course race time is near. I get so excited that every where i go or what i do.. seems like the number 7 is always standing out to me. even in my video poker game, seems like I've seen alot more pairs of 7's showing up in it....LOL.. So I decided it was a sign.. Picked up tickets to play NC lottery "pick 3". (usually never play this game).. But can you guess what 3 numbers I picked? . yup!.. 7 7 7 !!!!! playing those numbers all weekend. lol I figure with the 7 & 77 racing this weekend.. how can i go wrong....
It is almost close to the same excitment I feel as when Dakar gets here. I end up going through withdrawls for a week after Dakar.
it's stupid showing qualy so late, speed has a sick obsession with barrett jackson.
@Derrick,I'd wager BJ pays for coverage.
I bet there is better ratings for Barrett Jackson (Speed standards) and therefore gets priority. Money talks...
Save that MDR hat! It might not become worth much money, but it will be come a collectors item. There is a 99.9% chance we will never see another "MDR" race again. The fact is that we are seeing the loss of desert racing in the USA, and I think a few more promoters will be gone in the near future. DRIVE has closed their doors, MORE is struggling, SNORE is currently on suspension by the NV BLM and cant pull a permit. SNORE is working to have their next race on Indian Reservation land to get around the BLM. Score is having their issues in NV.

BTW it sounds like it is all but formally announced that SCORE will not be going back to Primm NV and there will be no Primm 300 this year. Sounds like the scramble is on to replace the Primm 300 with another San Felipe race.
We can thank Senator Finestein for this situation, by the way lets defeat her ' 2012 and pay her back.
How do you do that when you have 80% drones in CA. It would be like saying the POPE wasen't Catholic.
We are trying to do our part down in the Imperial Valley Dez to keep racing alive, ck out our website desertspringsoasis.com. we have been jumping through hoops for years and finally are going to planning vote before summers end. I have spoken to RG numerous times and am planning on him being involved somehow (he is the MAN in our neck of the woods) nobody stands on the gas like RG!! I will be listening on sirius to his win sunday!
I'm old enough that I can remember when there just weren't any rules and and 10+ years before there was the Bureau of Land Management. Few people can say they have played in the Kelso Dunes, but I did it before it was off limits. I quit going to Pismo and Glamis on 3 day weekends in 1969 because they had become "too crowded." Then in the 1970's and 1980's when I was racing I can say that we still had it pretty easy compared to what you guys are dealing with today. But, we still had to fight for what we wanted to do and where we wanted to race. I hate to think that off-road racing in the USA could come to an end, but they keep making it harder and harder to do. I'm glad that the younger generations are keeping up the fight.
What is the beef with the Off-Road racing out west? Crap it's all sand and rock correct? It's not like "Nature is being ruined, trees getting cut down ect".......... Is it the Federal Government that is making it impossible to hold events? Are they doing it becuase they haven't found a way to divert large sums of money into their own pocket?

Seems to me like they are spending alot of time trying to prevent people from having a good time and it seems to me like those people having a good time aren't hurting anything.....
have not heard or seen him around lately. miss him!

OT, I bet your boys are about the same height as you, close?
