Good insight - thanks for sharing TOG
I was was asking the same thing we only 5 laps?
If you look at the other non top 35 teams they only ran limited amount of laps too. Stremme 3 laps, Yaley 1 lap, Kvapil 7 laps, Nemacheck 9 laps and McDowell 7 laps. Also if you look at Happy Hour RG was 10th, but 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 7th place were also the non top 35 teams I listed above. They have all run minimal laps as qualifying is the first race for these guys and qualifying ultimately determines if they get paid or not. They were all in Q trim.
I wonder how much the other teams sandbagged happy hour? Still, it's nice to see RG finish practice in the top ten. Excited to see Walgreen's on the side of the car during this full race, hoping to see a good finish!
Agreed Kevin...
Doubt any sandbagging at all during happy hour. Go or go homers were in Qual trim. most everyone else was in racetrim. compare the actual times/speed between the two practice sessions. if you look at Robby's time in happy hour and compare it to the time during the 1st practice session.. looks to me that Robby will qualify around 32nd. just my guess according to the times
No point in sandbagging happy hour. Qualifying order was determined in 1st practice, where I'm sure sand-bagging took place. One of the stupider rules NASCAR has come up with IMO. If teams PICKED their qualifying spot based on practice speeds, then there would be no issues.
The car has Speed. I bought some Speed Energy in S.C. last weekend. Life is good. Lets race!
Looks like RG made his qualifying runs around teh same time qualifying will take place.
Good Luck to Robby this weekend. Always been a fan of his. Robby is a great driver and he'll get his team to where it needs to be. From what I've read he's going to attempt to run the full race, which is awesome.

He also has the nicest looking car out their every week which is a plus.
it's all good
last year first Michigan saw the pole at 37.898 topping 189 MPH and 43rd at 38.949 conditions and all change, just thought I would toss some meaningless stats in the fire.
