Trevor winning Daytona & Regan winning Darlington is pretty cool!
All we need is RG to win Sonoma.....
Robby has a better average finish at the Glenn -- then Daytona... then Talladega .... Sonoma is his 4th best track.... so i'll take a top 5... but I demand a WIN at the Glenn this year ... ; )
4 single car teams ahead of Robby in the points, figure that shit out
That's easy to figure out. All their money & resources go into Cup racing... RGM's money& resources go into Cup, Baja, Dakar, Indy (2012) and other things that Robby Gordon wants to do!
Well with Trevor Bayne still sidleined and the 21 not running races in the short term, they're no immediate threat.
The 71 missed what is hopefully the start of a few more misses...but even if we S&P it is doubtful the 71 runs more than 3-5 spots better than 37th (where we would finish)....

So I think we should be good through May being locked in..

I know people say that the top 35 doesn't matter but I say you are wrong...and I know if we are not running all the races races that it will be almost inmpossible to stay in it...but all it takes is a slip, a loose lugnut, a parts failure or something else stupid during a qual run at Sonoma or a rainout at the Glen and we oculd go home on a road course (I think it is virtually impossible to have rain at Sonoma in June...lol).

And Ihate the thought of not being locked into the 500 to start 2012...
Rainout at the Glen Q"S August 2008
S
I want to say 5 of the last 9 or 10 have been...
Having qualifying rained out can actually be a good too. Wasn't it MVille and Talladega last year (maybe 2) that he had to qualify in on speed, and when it rained he was guaranteed in based on points. I wouldn't have held much hope at either of those tracks that he would have made it in on speed.

Unless the team skips a bunch of races between now and then, he should be OK if qualifying is rained out. Aside from having a crappy starting spot that is, but better than watching the race at home...
For the cars outside the Top 35 the 1st determiner (even ahead of owners' points) is races attempted, so if the 7 doesn't attempt even one race before Watkins Glen it'll put him behind all cars that attempted every race. Not saying he couldn't still make it, but in that case rain would definitely NOT be a good thing...
RGM will stay in the Top 35 after Dover IF:

The 21 team doesnt beat RGM by 5 positions (or 4 and leads a lap) *Not scheduled to race at Dover
The 71 team doesn't beat RGM by 13 positions (or 12 and leads a lap)
The 38 team doesn't beat RGM by 35 positions (or 34 and leads a lap) *They would have to finish 8th or better.
The 37 team doesn't beat RGM by 38 positions (or 37 and leads a lap) *They would have to finish Top 5 or better.

All 4 teams must qualify on speed first. If any team fails to qualify they score zero points.
Maybe if we complain some more it will fix it?
