we'll be there at the Caveman campground, lol!
Well hopefully this weekend since Robby probably didn't intend on racing nor did Fast Five plan on being on the side of the car, maybe the team will come out and kick some ass this weekend. They can't really do any worse than last week so maybe here's to a great weekend that maybe wasn't supposed to have happened. (All this, is if only the car was supposed to have shown up this weekend without Robby)
I just hope they get the car comfortable, this RIM riding track really fits Robby well...Good luck to the guys at RGM..(what's the odds on a top 15)
7 to 1
Nikal & his posse stopped by the shop this week. Good bunch of guys. Nice finally meeting people you have been in the trenches with for years.
Yeah TOG, Thanks for giving us a few minutes of your time. BTW NC is safe again as all 5 of us off-road racers are back in Cali again!

I plan on writing up a little trip report about what we did and with who. Some of the people we meet, talked too and hung out with is quite impressive. Or at least it is impressive they hung out with us as long as the did! LOL

And for anyone going to the Charlotte All Star or Coke 600 race. The new HDTV screen at the track is freaking insane! The worlds largest TV will debut at the All Star Race and it is 30% bigger then the TV in the Dallas Cowboy Stadium, which is currently the largest. Just for reference the Presidents White House is 168 feet wide and 70 feet tall. The new HDTV at the track is 200 feet wide and 80 feet tall!
yep....for a young guy Nikal has been in the "trenches" a long time. Hope his west coast accent was not to hard to understand.... ;)
The Cowboy's screen is 1080 dpi and the one at Charlotte is 780. Not sure what the diiference will be since one is outdoors.

It will be like watching the race from your living room with a real nice (live) sound system.
Hopefully Fast Five will jump back onboard this fall when the DVD releases!
Am I only person on earth who thinks this way? I go to a Buffalo Bills game, there is a jumbotron. You can watch all the replays on it and for the most part everyone can see it but not the folks in that end zone. It is a great thing. Jumbotrons at the Glen, the place is pretty big and again you can watch replays of crashes and watch the leaders when there "are no cars in front of you". however I feel to put a video screen that is bigger than life at an oval race track just takes away from the sport and of watching a live race. To me all this media hype and build it bigger and dancing with the fu...stars shit is just bullshit.
Racing is great and I don't want to ever to see a giant video screen at Holland int. speedway or any other short track. (they can't afford it just sayin) So now I ask the question since this is a Darlington thread, would you want a damn giant jombotron at every oval you go to? Would it not take away from the thrill of "being there" at a track LIKE darlington. Sorry about the rant but attendance is falling all over the place and folks are jobless and the economy is crumbling and this rich kids dad gives him some play money to put a giant TV at a race track. To me this is ANAL. I'm just speaking my mind but let the bashers get on me. I know who a few are and can't wait. As for being off topic sorry I got all pissed up about that hurricane target they built down there. I just don'y get get it.
Have you been to Pocono or Indy?

Seriously though, I get it. If you want to see the replays of what happened at a game or a race, wait until you get home or stay home and watch the game/race. I love live events. But if you are at the race and you are watching Robby and something happens to one of the leaders, it would be nice to see what happens on relay (just kidding folks). Personally, I have a scanner and listen to the 7 car and MRN so the radio broadcast which is all I need. They provide enough information about what happened. If I wanted replays I would get one those "fanvision" things from Sprint. Do they have video replays?
they do. that's actually a pretty cool gadget. TV, track and alternate video. I don't have my own scanner so I rent one of the Sprint gizmos when I make a race. I don't really get your beef, Michael. Even at Charlotte you can't see everywhere from any seat. At Indy you see about a fourth of the track. I think it was Aryton Senna who use to look at the big screen at Monte Carlo to see what was going on around him.
