He started his own team in 1991 with Western Auto as a sponsor and had 2 wins that year and 3 wins in 1992. I'd call that successful.

Of course you have to take into consideration that he probably had help from Hendrick as well as a ton of support from NASCAR and Chevrolet that gave him the opportunity to be successful.

I hate to sound like Old Man River, but I was at the Pocono race in July 1992 when DW won and that was the same race that Davey Allison barrel rolled between turn 2 and 3. Great finish that came down to fuel milage and happened to be Ted Musgrave's first top 5 in Cup.
WOW.....Normally it takes until about Race 12 before all the bashing of each others opinions and people telling people what they can or can't say on this site starts........well ahead of schedule this year......
Yes, it's getting pretty bad here these days. It will be interesting to see how long it goes on before the big 'crackdown' starts. It's a sad thing when people can't have their own opinion and voice it, without others getting all pissy and calling those people names.

This is like being in high school all over again....... one clique against another...... kind of juvenile IMHO .

Surely Robby has thick enough skin to read all these comments and take them in stride , why can't others ? Oh well..... I'll still be a Robby fan no matter what.....
If the car/race sucked, it sucked. RG knows. It's a PART TIME schedule from here on out ( announced by Robby BEFORE the year started ) . Once the race ends, move on to the next. I am glad RG is only going to focus on what will be 'fun' races for him.
Yea, we are all juvenile. I didn't realize bitching and whining about things you have no control of is a sign of maturity. I guess I have some growing up to do. No thanks, I'll stay a juvenile.

How does the old saying go, with fans like the mature ones, who needs enemies.
I don't know about anyone else , but I'm bored with this whole discussion . You're free to have your opinion just as I and many others are free to have ours . As I was once told, if we were all alike, how boring would life be.

I know I'm a Robby fan no matter what happens each weekend . I don't dwell on the race as I have more important things to be concerned about. I am always holding out hope for a great finish by Robby , I continually hope they get everything figured out so those good finishes become the norm rather than the exception. If that makes me a 'bad' fan , then so be it.
@Sherri, But Sherri what you just posted is HUGELY different than the constant belly aching some do. I honestly can't remember you posting ( for as long as I've know you ) a negitive post about Robby or RGM,thats why your position on negativity suprises me.
Mike
Mike, it's not about negativity, or what some perceive negativity to be . My whole point is this, we all see things differently, react to things differently , and express our opinions differently. Do I think some on here take it too far when they comment on Robby or RGM , yes, I do, but do I let them get to me, no, I don't. Do I think they should be told to shut up, no , only because we all have freedom of speech, for good or for bad. If we all agreed on everything here on the Planet can you imagine how utterly boring it would become? I don't agree with everything that is said , but I also don't start arguing with those who IMO just want to see how much shit they can stir up. I believe that everyone here just wants to see Robby do well , some just seem to take the bad stuff more to heart than others. Maybe they need to find a different outlet for their disappointment , maybe we need to be a little more tolerant of them, IDK , I'm not a therapist. As someone said, "can't we all just get along" ?

IMO , Robby fans are some of the most passionate people around, we all want the same thing , success for our driver. Can't we all try to remember that ?
Sherri, I 'll PM you.
I think this is a place to express your feelings toward RG or RGM, good or bad. Everybody needs to vent now and again. Some people don't like to hear anything negative about their driver when all it is, is discussion(as long as it is not something absolutely moronic). I personally do not have a problem with people expresssing their opinion on here, and most on here can rebute repectfully without name calling, but then there are always that few who can't.
We all have one thing in common here on the "Planet", we all want RG to do great in NASCAR, SCORE, DAKAR, hopefully INDY, and whatever else he sees fit. Lets just keep it under control.
