From Dodge Motorsports:

ROBBY GORDON (No. 7 Fast Five/SPEED Energy Dodge Charger R/T) Finished 23rd "We had a really good car today until somebody got into me and shoved me into another car. That messed the front end up; it seemed to overheat at that point. We had to pull some tape off which made the car tighter. It was an OK day. We would have rather run better with the movie "Fast Five" on the car. When the No. 2 (Brad Keselowski) had the flat tire, if they (NASCAR) had thrown the caution, we would have been back on the lead lap and there were just a few cars on the lead lap at that time. We would have been in good shape, but overall, it was a good day. That last stop, we pitted a little too early. We pitted under green and the caution came out. That put us two more laps down. We finished 23rd. It could have been a better finish with any luck."

Slugger Labbe is usually on at 10am on TMD on SIrius...thats duringmy drive time, so I'll see if he says anything about Paul and Robby.
Here's Paul's quote, from Frontstretch.com:

“We are not really sure. It started blowing up. The water temp was fine. Came in and saw a hole in the radiator. The water pressure was ok. Not sure. I think the No. 7 (Robby Gordon) thought I got into him during that last run and he brake-checked me and I hit him. That is probably what put the hole in the radiator. So I owe Robby Gordon.” – Paul Menard, 38th, on what happened to his car
I just posted this on the Martinsville thread.

On Sirius radio this morning Slugger Labbe who is Paul Menards CC, comes on weekly to talk about how the race went for them. He said what happened with Paul was at the start they got stuck on the outside groove and burned off the right rear tire as did a few other cars. Slugger said Brad Keselowski is who hit the 27 car and caused Paul hit the wall. Slugger then said during the restart Paul got into the back of a "teammate" which you would not expect, knocking a hole in the radiator causing the overheating and ending their day with a 38th place finish.

Later they asked about Paul being mad at Robby and Slugger said well "What comes around goes around. I'm sure nothing will happen at Texas as you are going to fast and that is not the place to settle it. He said those types a things get settled a few races later at slower tracks . He also mentioned that as he expected Brad Keselowski already called to apologize, but it does not fix what was done. He never did say if RG and Paul talked.

What I thought was strange is Slugger said Paul ran into a "teammate" causing the overheating which is something you would not expect. So does Paul and Slugger look at RG as a teammate since Menards sponsors RGM? Or am I missing something? I did not see the race, but was told Paul ran into RG (or was brake checked) causing the overheating.
Almost as advertised by TOG to be Robby's best run at Martisville. This race proved that RGM is taking steps toward being a better team.

Did anyone else catch the RGM crew member running out to get a tire that got away from the 18 team pitting in front of them? Nice show of sportsmanship. If Robby was still in a Toyota I would say that it was the key to getting a JGR chasis that everyone wanted to desparately last year. Kyle owes Robby.
So, does that mean now Paul is gonna be lookin for payback?
Yes, he will run complaining to daddy about his sponsorship of RG!
Always expect M'ville to be troublesome so this was great to see. Evidence that hard work does pay off. Looking for an exciting April for the #7!
23rd is good considering the last few times he's been here. I'm satisfied
Glad they finished this one, where a lot of others did not.
If RG M can finish consistently in the top 20 - 25, IMO, he will be able to get more sponsors and higher race fees.
"I owe him one" is thrown around like dice on a crap table. As much as Martinsville can be a crap shoot i'm okay with the finish and the reality is for me that, the team seems to be on some solid marketing ground. I'm in a feelgood mood about RGM and am pretty pumped about where the SPEED energy adventure is going to take me as a fan. Not alone i'm sure there are many of us whom are free from that "clutching at straw" survival first mindset and can now enjoy some racing for the near future. Rob wants more as we all do, and his quotes support that. As soon as you are satisfied you are doomed to failure.
Rob....Kyle owes Robby..............what goes around comes around. Great job guys....I think your getting the hang of it.....put your boots on and kick some tail in Texas.
