Kevin Conway released a statement Monday evening: "I don't mind stiff competition, but I want to make sure the hard facts are told.

Really, is this an appropriate time to be making sponsor plugs, I thought this was a serious situation that Kevin went to the police about?

First and foremost, I love being a part of NASCAR and have worked very hard to earn the privilege of competing in the Sprint Cup Series.

Worked, earned....debatable at best.

On Friday night, Robby Gordon, who has a long history of issues in NASCAR decided to ambush me in the garage area at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, completely unprovoked.

RG's past is just that, past issues. How exactly do you get ambushed in a Cup garage, its almost too fan friendly at time and most sources initially said nobody saw the situation.

Robby even confronted Joe Nemechek, my car owner, on pit road during Cup Series qualifying shoving him and telling him that he was looking for me and going to assault me.

So wait, he assaulted Joe , threatened to harm you and you still decided to go around him. Seems like if that was the case you would either avoid that person, or confront them. So why go over to the Cup garage unless it was for the confrontation?

We have many witnesses including a crew chief that signed a police report documenting the truth of his physical attack on me.

So wait, now other people saw this and its automatically the "truth" just because its signed on a police report. If its legally documented, why not name this person directly?

Situations like this are not good for our sport. It's one thing if we were racing each other and I wrecked him or he wrecked me, that's an entirely different situation. I

Sure, both RG and Joe need his stuff torn up and Nascar just thrives on intentional wrecking, clearly this would have been a better route.

It's very unfortunate that he chose to physically attack me to address his rage. Our fans, sponsors and NASCAR expect and deserve more from our competitors than this bullish, illegal behavior that was displayed by Robby against me."

Bullish and Illegal are both his opinion, but in his defense, Extenze has a pretty "firm grasp" on "hard facts" when it comes to things being illegal. The did have that 6 million dollar out of court settlement. Plus already have pending issues with RGM and Front Row.

the whole thing is sad.Robby is doing the right thing by not addressing it in public. But I to remember when FRM let Conway go and he signed with RGM.My words were be careful, and a few basciclly said Robby is a good bussiness man and knows what he is doing.Well we see how that turned out.And alot were suddenly Conway fans, and we saw how that has turned.Told someone wait till the ICON screws RG and see how the attack him.Always knew it would come to this, now maany know how we felt when it took two others to keep this joke in the top 35.
Kevin Conway broke the unwritten code that drivers have honored since the dawn of auto racing.

Don't be a Rat!

Kevin Conway has now firmly established himself in the garage and within racing circles as a Rat.

Car owners won't hire a Rat.
It's one thing if we were racing each other and I wrecked him or he wrecked me

Is chasing the pack called racing because, I thought you actually had to pass a car on the track to be racing them.
I have no problem admitting I jumped on the Conway bandwagon. I thought it was a great move when Robby put Labonte in the car and Conway. Those were tough times and it made good business sense (at the time). I had nothing against Conway even when he was gone from RGM. (It was looked more like ExtenZe fault and not Kevin's) but now I can't stand the guy. Not because he's not a good driver, or sells penis pills, or anything like that, but because he called the police. You want to be part of Nascar or any other series (you keep it in the series). Conway might not be a good driver, but he does have good business skills and unfortunately those skills are being used to try to promote him...and it will be a career killer. Conway called the police to attract more attention. He's putting out PR with sponsor references and broadcasting his "version" all to keep Kevin Conway & ExtenZe in the news. Cup has the week off, leaving Conway 2 weeks of exposure to keep his name and sponsor in the media. Standard tactics used in media all the time. What he doesn't realize, as soon as this story fades...so will he.
zoom hearts kc....throw the shirt away...lol....
I burned it and bought a new one yesterday....

What is wrong with this picture - Robby does a contract with KC and Entenze, KC drives the car and the owner of RGM does not get paid because the contract. Does the contract say you have to be in the TOP 35 in order to make the race! When Robby had to come to KC aid to make the race and take over driving duties due to KC last place or his start and park, does this break the contract, I do not think Robby would have any of this in his contract as an owner, Extenze is just trying to get out of paying to have KC drive the car.
Well at least he's getting advertising for Speed.
Robby needs his own press release, and apparently, based on Conways PR, it doesn't need to be 100% factual: "Yeah, I grabbed Conway by the collar, and dumped a can of SPEED ENERGY (available at Terrible Hebst) on his head!"
I like this alot alan4s
I guess I'll throw my "who cares" two cents into this mess. The only problem I see with all this is that it is another lawsuit/issue that could break the concentration of racing. I hope I'm wrong and we kick ass at Bristol!!!!!!
I am mad at Extenze. After today , these KC posts will be moved from the front page. Not going to give the situation any more legs after today.
