2011 Las Vegas Race Weekend Info & Discussion

Join in here and discuss all the weekend action for the 2011 Las Vegas cup race. Robby Gordon will drive the #7 Terrible's/SPEED Energy Dodge. The team had a 32nd place finish last year at Vegas. Here is the weekend schedule for RGM at the Nevada track.

 Qualifying           6:30pm - 8:00 pm/et   ( 38th Quickest )

There is a backup car, but RG doesn't need to wreck anything in practice or qualifying. The primary is the best shot at a good race finish.Good to see RG justify why he had to take it easy today. Raceday is Sunday.

I'm thinking the black car is the back-up. Probably loaded in the trailer. Primary will be fast on Sunday.

The souvenir trailer was loaded today with lots of new Speed gear and was pretty busy. If you bought something they threw in a can of Speed to go with.

rough start to vegas, he will be fihgting to stay on the the lead lap. hate to say it but he will fall in the standings this week.

car is not right, no conservative mode saving car for the race. Just read this on Dodge quotes:

"For us, it was just an OK qualifying run in our SPEED Energy Dodge. We're just bouncing around. We went from one direction to the other for qualifying. We’re just struggling trying to get hold of the race track. I thought that we would be better than that when we rolled out here. Turns 1 and 2 have gotten so rough, the mechanical grip has changed so much because of the bumps. We just need to figure out the right combination that our Dodge likes."

@M&Ms18,there are several ways to interpt that comment, add to that Kurt Busch's comments and I get that tommorrow in RACE practice they'll work on bump stop rates and timing.A few very important facts.Robby does'nt need to be tearing up cars in practice and he's all ready in the show.Sunday is raceday,the money day!

he thought it would be in the 183 mph bracket....still conservative setup & approach....he clocked in at 181...on to Sunday...

TOG we need a special page for posts made based not on facts but rather on the fact a key board is in front of you.....just joking but i'm sure Terry Labonte must be pissed nobody told him he was entered........as for the scuffle it seems driver A tripped over a jack handle and bumped driver B who then turned and said "you think that's funny your wife lost 12 grand last night"........then Kyle Bush said..er driver C said "thats nothing my wife lost her virginity last night" LOL
