Sponsors jumping on. Hope Robby gets some more! I just got the call that I will be doing some work for TRG. They signed one yesterday. Their car will look cool, just would like to see it on the track and not a S&P.

Back in the 80's the TV broadcasts were much more about the name on the outside of the car, example "the coors melling ford" now they would say Bills name or maybe who he driving for. Small teams get the shaft in most cases from the press. TV time really is $ for teams and the coverage is produced from a who has the most fans view alone. Lets hope its a national deal, but even rewarding local brokers who carry speed by placing the brokers stores logo on the car would be progress.

I've often wondered lately if a team's sponsor has to pay Fox and/or NASCAR in order to be mentioned on TV.

If you recall the first year of the Fox broadcast deal in 2001, they actually Photoshopped out sponsor names from graphics if they didn't buy advertising time. For example, when they showed the starting line up, any cars that had a sponsor that didn't buy advertising time were photoshopped blank. They did this for the shootout, qualifying, and the twin races. By the 500 they had caught enough crap about it that they went away from this practice... But it shows that there is precedent for not showing/naming sponsors without some dollars exchanging hands.

I heard that, is it true? Its funny to watch the coverage change to fit either fox or disney's agenda. Send nacsar to pbs,the race will be covered very slow speaking and not in HD but atleast it would be fair to all 43 cars who make the show.

Absulutly true,I can remember yelling at the tv.
That also was the start of NOT televizing everyone in the field (selective coverage)
IMO, it was a sad day for motorsports!

My wife stopped at Harris Teeter today (it's on the other side of town) and picked up our first couple boxes of Speed energy! Said it's for the Race on Sunday.
