No stage 5 for Robby Gordon....2011 Rally is now over for the #303 HUMMER.

Robby Gordon had right front wheel bearing issues before the start of the timed special, costing him about 5 hours. He completed the stage, but because he was late to the special, he is disqualified from the rally.

"This is not fair" said Gordon after the stage, "I can´t understand the descision of the Organizer ASO. During the stage the officials told me that we can still run, after the stage they told me I´m disqulified. I tried everything to start again."

The technical problems happened during the liasion, Gordon was waiting for the second Hummer of Eliseo Salazar and his Service-crew. But Salazar was still in the timed stage, the service trucks had to wait after all participants were in the stage because to fasten the border-crossing between Argentina and Chile.

"I don´t know if I will come back next year" said a disappointed Gordon. The second Hummer with Eliseo Salazar is still competing in 81st overall position.

Robby will not be running the remainder of the 2011 Dakar Rally. Support will still be given here to the #327

That is simply too bad.  Time to get all the data off of the 327 that they can, take notes and prepare for 2012.

Never give up.

Gas on RG and RGM!

well , it's very hard to believe that they couldn't see each other .....

we have pics , footage and the car is very very ........ orange .

even hidden on the side of the road just the glow of it would be enough .

oh well ... no need to argue .... it's over ... they won't do the same mistake next year .....

i'll be around next year .

Well that just no fun

Tough break for everyone concerned.

Now can we talk about Daytona? :)

first off tog , thank you very much for every thing,i can remember many years ago waiting for magazins to come out to read about the the dakar but with the internet youtube and great sites like planet robby its great to follow.but but but how come last year when all the people that dident make it to the finish of a stage in time the powers that be changed the rules and crated a 100 hour penalty and let them continu , is it was becase it was a big part of the feild or because none of them could run for stage wins or is my memory wrong
also didn't they let robby do the same thing a few years ago
Thats what happens when you put Buisiness above Racing. Robby said he saw the other team fly by, so they must of not taken a different route.
When are we going to find out for sure? I saw on Facebook that RGM is planning on running in  Laughlin Desert Challenge on the 14JAN.

So at this point do you think Robby will do 2012 Dakar?

YES
