No stage 5 for Robby Gordon....2011 Rally is now over for the #303 HUMMER.

Robby Gordon had right front wheel bearing issues before the start of the timed special, costing him about 5 hours. He completed the stage, but because he was late to the special, he is disqualified from the rally.

"This is not fair" said Gordon after the stage, "I can´t understand the descision of the Organizer ASO. During the stage the officials told me that we can still run, after the stage they told me I´m disqulified. I tried everything to start again."

The technical problems happened during the liasion, Gordon was waiting for the second Hummer of Eliseo Salazar and his Service-crew. But Salazar was still in the timed stage, the service trucks had to wait after all participants were in the stage because to fasten the border-crossing between Argentina and Chile.

"I don´t know if I will come back next year" said a disappointed Gordon. The second Hummer with Eliseo Salazar is still competing in 81st overall position.

Thanks for the update
Please please please ASO grant this one wish! Never quit RG!
Keeping my fingers crossed for RG ,Kellon and Team Hummer to return to the fray in stage 5 - really wanted to see those beasts fly through the dunes and rough terrain !! ... RG's a fighter he'll be back !! & Remember Elisio and Steve are still in it and capable of a good performance - go 327 !!
Terrible choice for driver!!!!! How do you pass the BOSS ALONG SIDE THE ROAD AND NOT STOP TO HELP???? Especially when you have the part he needs!!!!
You don't, I can't beleive it...
You can't as well.  if they don't have have comms, they can't communicate.
www.larozadakar2011.blogspot.com Clearly they would not have intentionally passed their teammates. It is easy to make assumptions from the other side of the world.

Good point Ali.

I get the impression the spare part was on another T4 race truck that Robby bought space on, not the #327 Hummer, (read some of the other blogs) so don't throw the #327 under the T5 yet. Gas on ES/SL.
will race with half the tank or with 4 flats but let him race!!! haha will pray for a go
Feeling horrible for the team but have to ask...who in the world would put together a multimillion dollar effort and let the car to car communication situation be so slack that it didn't work or it didn't exist?  If nothing else why wasn't Kellon standing in the road flagging down the other car?  Either some details have been left out of the story or some serious common sense slipped through the cracks.

Monday morning quarterbacing is very easy. isn't it.
