STAGE 2 TRACKING

STAGE 2: Cordoba > San Miguel de Tucuman

Connection 440km | Special Stage 324km | Total 764km

COURSE OVERVIEW

For this stage entirely covering new ground, the competitors’ compass bearings will be set to the north, leading the rally into a backdrop of forest which will remind some observers of bush landscapes. During part of the day, the bikes and quads will again be separated from the cars and trucks. The acrobats on two wheels will have a field day on an old track where jumps are plentiful and sometimes spectacular. In the cockpits of the cars, the drivers can also expect a bumpy ride: endless hops and bounds as well as blind corners will be on the menu.

yeah with a fiat 127 as fast recovery car ... anythings possible !!!!!   =)
and last year was a fluke to have 1-3 positions so tight. 2007 I think 4th was 7 hours out.

# 374 Sue Mead / Darren Skilton up to 115 overall in a Ford Predator...

just wondering... why did robby choose 2wd;s again?  I realize there are still two weeks to go but was beginning to wonder about the dunes....

GO ROBBY, we're still behind you.

Probably had a shop full of parts... 2wd rules allow larger engines, different turbo, carb & chassis rules, etc...

Robby said last year he was bringing a 4wd, but w/the Monster Speed change etc... & trying to reinvent the NASCAR team I think the die was cast. I bet we see 4wd next year, maybe on the lines of his trophy truck or maybe that new Predator.

Sure would be nice to have some factory support GM/FORD/Dodgefiat Maybe we can get a fecebook group going (ha)

Because he see's this as the way to that's why.

the dunes are coming , atacama is just around the bend .....

yesterday i have seen the prep crew at work ....

well there is 2 killer stages coming , very very tough .

As cars come through they're better still, up to 107 now more coming in.

Attrition+ Nearly 100 hours of racing left...Nobody can even speculate about whats going to happen.  That's why Dakar is my favorite event of the year.

Many of you just need to take a breath.  With this race you can be hours down and still make the podium.

I can totally speculate this... HALF of the guys in front of RG right now... Will be 20+ hours out of the running by the end of the rally. And Half of those won't even make it to the end.
Fact.

Last year Leader Peterpencil had an engine fire & dropped a bunch.

2 years ago El Toro rolled it into a gulch & DNF'd (his codriver is now in a BMW.

Air El-Att... took the wrong road home & was penalized (last year?)

It's way far from over & the Dunes are where the Hummer shines.
