Just my opinion.. Nead made the car run fast "at that time". He new what had to be done to make the car work the best it could with the information available for the COT. At that time the information across the board for all teams were pretty much equal. Now what has happened is that teams have found out new things with all the testing.. RGM has not found anything *NEW* since then while everyone else has.. (well at least nothing new to really make a difference). At this time I really don't think any crew chief can make a difference for RGM until they do more testing and find more information to use on the car.. Until then any crew chief will have simular results with RGM. RGM needs resources and information on the COT.

At one point, wasnt it Bob Temple as the crew chief, and Greg Irwin and Frank Kerr doing the engineering? And I think that was in Busch and in the beginning of the 05 Cup season.

You can see how RG has degraded since then.

Actually "biged" is right about GN, he didnt get fired from any of those places, and would never come back to RGM and probally wont ever leave BDR again, from his mouth as of last week.... and Gene is a great guy and a hell of a cup crew chief

Yup. Defazio told me he would work with Gene anyday of the week at any team if he had the chance. And as you said, Gene HATES Robby. Yes I said HATES. Chris will back me up on this.

I liked walter and gene, both had great qualities about them, great minds, but came at it from different directions, gene was a mechanical grip c.c. and walter an engineering c.c., both were good at what they did, i talk to gene almost every week and i am sure it will be the same with walter, have great respect for both of them. Now to answer your question... there is no easy answer.... stat wise gene had better results, speed wise walter usually had our car fast and shit luck or mech. failure of some sort bit us. our driver was a different person with gene than walter and the stuff we are doing now we didnt do back then. RG respected walter and i dont think did gene. It sounds like your in the game , you know how it is.

I think Gene could go back and the results would get better if Robby would listen, Why do you think there was such a large lack of respect from Robby when he made the team so much better
