I say 9 laps. Why the breaks? Do they run a skeleton crew on s&p races to save money, go to garage for tires and fuel? or is it just a cat & mouse game with other s&ps?

You are both probably close. Lately he's been about 11 mph slower than the lead cars. It won't take long at a 3/4 mi track

In the spring race KC ran 387 laps and finished 37. He averaged dropping one lap in 30 laps run. The average speed was 99.5mph with 6 cautions for 51 laps. In HH he was 1sec off from the top time. IMHO, they should let him run the full race and they may get a better finish then a S&P.
