Maybe people now see why teams with no funding start and park. If PJ or Robby would have run the full race they would have made no more then 10k in race winnings. Then you have to take into fact the costs of running the race...
I'm not going to bed with this start and park shit, however Robby said long ago "we are in survival mode". So i'll take him at his word and not complain one bit. Survive.
The race today had a good finish.
Take a car that is not the best piece in the shop and go bend her up a bit. Bristol since going to concrete is not the great race it once was as far as "action" goes.
until RGM gets some serious funding this is what to expect....Bristol lost a lot of "Action" when they made the track wider
I think it was a good day in the RGM camp. Take this weekend to the bank, this one ended well..........
$ results will come out soon, probably around $130K combined
P.J: $83,598
RG: 71,375

Total: $154,973
If RG and RGM accomplished what they wanted to, i'm happy
I wonder how this will all play out when Nascar takes away the "free" money and does something about the start and parks!! This has got to be hurting Nascars reputation the longer this goes on! And how long will the fans (or lack thereof) buy into this?? Did anyone see the empty seats yesterday??? NOT a good product on the track each week unless you are a fan of the most popular drivers!!!!
Ya but in many ways its NASCAR's own doing.
Nascar can't do anything about the start and parks at this point, because then they would not have full fields. The situation will take care of itself when the economy gets better and sponsorship returns.

Regardless of the RGM's situation, the S&P situation with other teams, seat count, etc............that was a pretty damn good race if you ask me.
In my opinion, Nascar has become one of the worst forms of motorsports to watch. Most races are boring. Nascar spent way too much time concentrating on its own paychecks over the last ten years rather than designing a competitive racing series. They made a killing over the past 5 years, but in their own long term detriment. If you look at what is regarded as the highest form of motorsports, F1, they have accomplished so much more. I think one of the things that has turned a lot of the fans away beside boring races is nascar controlling the races. No ifs ands or buts. Does Nascar control who wins each week? No, but it does have enough say that it controls the finishes of some of it drivers(can you say JG and JB yesterday). Also with the TV companies in their back pocket there's not one station out there that will condone an announcer challenging nascar's calls.

IT ALL REVERTS BACK TO THE $. Nascar makes certain calls to ensure top teams stay top teams and receive top dollar sponsorships. IMO nascar needs to take a note out of F1s Books. Allow another organization to run the races. They continue to put on races, week in and week out, not being able to fill up the seats and at the current rate nascar wont be the powerhouse it once was all because they focused on the short term $ not the long term growth.
Don't let the "empty seats" fool you. There was still over 100,000 people there.
How many does NHMS hold?
