In the video clip, Robby says Nascar is 80% this year and probably 50% next year of his racing schedule. Robby adds, "That doesn't mean I don't give 100% when I'm behind the wheel."

How much did it cost to field a 34th place car for the season?
probably a lot more than $3.5 million.
Which was my point.....
The only reason I could see him running NW and or Truck is if he wanted to be more competetive. Without multiple teams and the almighty dollar he will always be behind the large multi/well funded teams in CUP. All the other costs are the same as mentioned above by WJM. So, do you really see Robby ever settling for a 2nd tier driving league just to run up front? Me neither. I am sure he would rather run a half schedule and do things like Indy, Score, and Monster trucks in addition to Cup. Oh how I wish Gilette Everham wouldn't have welched on that deal!!!
I doubt the economics of this are completely correct. I'm not being insulting, I'm just wondering, if this were true, why would anyone possibly run as a Nationwide or Trucks only team? I mean, on the one hand, it is obviously a little easier to establish yourself as a contender. With both series garnering less horsepower under the hood, I'd imagine it costs less money to field a team, especially with cost-effective measures in place such as limiting the number of tire sets teams can use for each race in Nationwide and Trucks. Plus, events are generally much shorter, making wear and tear minimal compared to Cup, and making it more feasible to run the whole race.
I hate to admit it, but I agree wholeheartedly. I think we could easily pull some sponsors to run either of those series full time. I wouldn't mind seeing Robby suspend RGM's cup program and have him go run full time for an established team. The 98 is now an available option. Being an owner/driver is always an uphill battle, ask Ricky Rudd or Geoff Bodine. I hate seeing Robby start and park have some goofy Prism Motorsports-like scheme like he's doing this weekend where you know he will not run the full race.
I also read an article on foxsports that Robby said that he has commitments in the way for now, but once they are over he will have some announcements and it should be fun. Anyone know anything on this? Any speculation of what he might mean?
Here is a shot out of left field...

Commitments in the way = Monster

Future announcements = Red Bull?
we can only hope...

(to be honest....I just hope for any company to step up and give RGM full backing).....
nando = nope.
bummer
no bummer at all.
