Now, this team is in trouble. Its a rather disheartening thing that happens week in and week out. While I dont know who to blame, I know its more than one person, one being the driver. Robby was good when he was told what changes would be made, and how he could search the track to make it work. I fear that if Robby cant let Walter do is job properly what else is he doing Mon-Thurs. that distracts him from doing his main job, which should be drive the car. This team depends on his performance, plain and simple, cut and dry. If he doesnt perform, I dont care about RGM or RG Off-Road, GEM, or John Menard's help....its gonna fail.

I dont want to discuss too much of this season in this post, so lets get some thoughts out here that I think we can all agree on. The 7 car seems to be totally different from practices to races. We seem to be the only car making ultra major changes. Lets face it, the top 25 cars aren't changing springs, packers, and generally making wild guesses to fix a car. Then going from wrecking loose to hit the wall tight. Say want you want about any driver in the world, when Robby spins something out, its ill handling. We sure have fallen a long way from a guy who was gonna run the Indy 500 if he didnt get his points back, because the team was a chase contender.

My honest opinion for next season. Put Scott Riggs in this junk car (as he has proven he can drive junk fairly well as well as attract sponsorship), and let Robby go be a driver only. He gave this one heck of a shot, but lets face facts. The BGN success RGM had hasent transferred over and the BGN team is a shell of its former self. Its not being competitive and surely not a threat to win races. When Jr. Motorsports has top name drivers and full Hendrick support, and its scared to pull the trigger and move to cup...that should tell you something about what went wrong here.

Now, if that's not your cup of tea fine. Break out the check book, and pack an extra few pillows because its time for this team to work! That means running a full BGN schedule the rest of the way out. The whole cup team doing a double, practice pits stops, spotting, and more important driver/crew chief chemistry. The #55 needs to qual in for BGN races, which is good because if Cup keeps heading down, then Robby is gonna need to qual in for them as well. I dont want to hear about BGN/Cup differences, track time is track time and that goes for driver and crew.

RGM is done they cant get out of their own way right now. They supposedly run inhouse chassis theres your first problem you cant share notes with GEM even if they offered. Robby said he has ran the same 5 chassis all year. And you hear other teams talk about how they are running brand new cars. Greg Erwin might have been better then what weve had lately but the only reason he is doing so well with Biff is he has way more technology and input from test teams and teammates. Robby will always be behind because of this. His talent behind the wheel cant make his cars faster they just plain suck.
He needs to take his number and what sponsers he has left and drive for someone else or move to Toyota and beg for help now.
The American Lemans Series, the Rolex Grand Am Series or the Indy Car Series.
RGM has ten races to find a solution for the Cup program. Otherwise no one should really expect this team and the #7 to be in the races next season.
Bingo......

Although...they haven't improved all year and I'm not to sure 10 races will fix that.......

I think Robby's days as Owner/driver in cup are quickly approaching a screetching halt...I doubt other than Beam, sponsorship will be impossible for a team who can finish 33 on a GOOD night.........
Theres not going to be a next year the way things are going. Robby needs to get his head out of his a$$.
Thats the problem now, is there are really no quality rides left for 2009 available and no one would have any reason to buy the #7. RGM may scrape together a 2009 season for the car that will have fans wishing for the good old days of 2005 and maybe RG can land a decent ride for 2010.
How bout we all get together, drink some Monsters, & jump off a cliff? I'll even stay to the back to make sure nobody sissies out.
I'll help you Mike! This is pire bullshit!!!!!!!! Back Robby all the way, or get out of here!!!!!
Sell the #7 to Tony and go drive for him
On To Richmond !
There better be something going on TODAY at RGM to fix this. He needs some outside help NOW. He also better get to a test track by Wed and run a bunch of fucking laps. Or this team is toast.

If there is a rainout Friday he will get lapped in no time. Then that is the end of that if he brings another crappy car.

He should also get a Penske engine and take it to the test too.
Agreed, they need to find some kind of alliance with somebody (hopefully a Dodge team).
IDK if anyone else saw (I think it was) Raceday, where Kenny Wallace was talking about how much the COT has evolved already. How the big teams have played so much with spring rates,& front end geometry. Furthermore how all the big guys gen 1 COT's are now show cars. He said if they brought the same car/setup to any track, as they did last year, they'd get laughed off the track. Didn't RG recently make a comment about how they've been running the same 5 chassis all this season? I know a lot will depend on this new Dodge engine, but if they can't get the power to stick, what diff does it make how much there is?
I hate the thought of shit canning 5 chassis (cost in mind), but Rob needs to be in a bigger think tank, with somebody. To do that, he's gonna need to give up those chassis. The obvious part is funding to buy, from somebody like Penske. Hell maybe they could work something out where the 77 comes to RGM,& Robby has Penske chassis,& engines in/under his cars. Two 2 car teams, 4 cc's, 4 diff drivers, styles= lots of data.
