Robby Gordon Watkins Glen International Preview

Charlotte, NC (August 5, 2010) – Robby Gordon and the No. 7 SpeedFactory.tv Toyota team will return to Watkins Glen International this weekend to race at one of Gordon’s favorite tracks. Gordon grew up racing in off-road competition before making the transition to open-wheel racing where he perfected his skills on road courses. He is continually recognized as a key competitor in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series road course races.

Robby Gordon’s SPEED FACTORY – Robby Gordon's SPEED FACTORY is a reality show that features a behind-the-scenes look at a world-class race shop and its day-to-day operations. Robby Gordon Motorsports is a multi-faceted race shop that houses a variety of elite racing machines that include NASCAR Sprint Cup Series cars, SCORE International Off-Road Trophy Trucks, three Dakar HUMMERs, a Short Course Off-Road Truck and the newest edition, the Monster Truck. All of these different varieties of motorsports make up what Gordon likes to call his SPEED FACTORY. SPEED FACTORY is scheduled to air two shows a week giving the fan a perspective of what it takes to be one of the most diversified drivers in the world, one of the few owner/driver combinations in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, and most importantly, what it takes to make the SPEED FACTORY work. Robby’s Thoughts – “I love coming to Watkins Glen [International] every year. As an organization, we always focus on this race and put a huge effort behind our preparation because we know it’s a race that where we have a good chance to win. We went testing a couple weeks ago and have spent the last two weeks working on the final stages of preparing and perfecting our cars. We’ll have PJ Jones up there as our teammate in the No. 07 Toyota Camry. PJ’s driving style is a lot like mine and I’m excited to have someone else to work with throughout the weekend. The entire Robby Gordon Motorsports organization has put a lot of effort into this weekend and I feel like the SpeedFactory.tv Toyota Camry is up to the challenge. It should be a good time.”

Career at The Glen – Since 1997, Robby Gordon has recorded 11 career starts at Watkins Glen International completing 960 laps and more than 2,350 miles. Gordon was the 2003 race winner and has recorded seven top-10 finishes at the Upstate New York road course. Gordon is poised to turn his 1,000th lap at The Glen this weekend.

Is PJ a sure "Start N Park",or is it a play it by ear scenario?
Probably will run as much as possible, He ran well over half the race at Sonoma earlier this year.

Bit of trivia: 2002 RG and PJ had their best combined finish in a race. At Watkins Robby finished 3rd and PJ finished 4th (his NASCAR career high). A repeat of that result would be the next best thing to a win by Robby. Best of luck to both of you!
would be sweet much needed
Check out the video's of that 2002 race in the video section, courtesy of Lance.
JUST LEFT CALIENTE IN MEXICO ROBBY IS 25/1 PUT 100.00 DLLS ON HIM LETS GO ROB
Who is PJ's cc if that hasn't been asked yet? I'm assuming it will be Robby's dad Bob since Miles is with Robby this week.
Chad Knauss. He is moonlighting.
All packed, out the door at 0700 tomorrow morning. Headed to The Glen. VERY frustrated that there will be no Merchandise Hauler, but hell, like everything else, I'll get over it. Looking forward to a great weekend of racing, and seeing Robby doing grandstand burnouts on his way the Victory Lane!
