Jimmy wouldn't do it unless Mongo was on the hood
what a god awful race

if NASCAR wants to change things around next year then drop one pocono race and make the other one a 2 lap sprint.

I'd rather watch a 24 hour marathon of The View than another Pocono race, it's that bad.
They have got to make some safety changes to that track before they kill someone. Those inside retaining walls are horrible. Elliot Sadler is lucky to be alive. Dale Earnhardt saved his life today. Love or hate the new car, the safety changes implemented after 2001 are the reason he was able to walk away from that.

Pocono needs shortened by 100 miles, cut one date, and serious safety upgrades before someone gets killed.
Yes, remember when DW punted Davey Allison about 20 years ago?...and they still haven't improved it.
Here are some of Pocono's greatest hits. That place is scary. I know we've had big wrecks at Daytona, Talladega, Michigan, Charlotte, Atlanta, Texas, Vegas and lots of other places, but at least other tracks seem to make an effort to improve. I don't see anything new or different at Pocono over the last few years. Paving the inside of the Long Pond straight and getting rid of the earthworks and armco would be a good start.

I think the DW/Allison incident was in 1992, and not to speak ill of the dead, but Davey had been asking for it for months. He cost DW a win at Martinsville by turning him there. Allison drove down and across DW at Pocono and he got turned. DW COULD have cut him some slack, but you know, I guess he was all out of patience with the 28. You know what they say about not 'messing' with a bull unless you want the horns ...

The best part was DW went on to win that day.
I remember that very well, and you are correct about them having prior run-ins.
My Dad was a HUGE fan of the Allisons, and his least favorite driver was DW. I was a huge DW fan, and I hated the Allisons.

Needless to say, we argued about that crash at Pocono for weeks. I think my poor mother was ready to jump out of a window she was so tired of hearing it!
call me crazy but 35 is within 2 spots of what we would had finished if we would had ran the whole boring race. I think this was smart
over 84 laps between 34th & 35th...crazy stuff.
Congrats to PJ for a much better result for the #7 this time vs the first Pocono race.
drop a pocono and add road america!
