2010 Chicagoland 400 Race Info & Discussion

Join in here and discuss all the weekend action for the 2010 Chicagoland 400 cup race.Robby Gordon will drive the #7 Mapei/Menards Toyota.This weekend's schedule is somewhat different,as all practice & qualifying will be held in one day,and the race the following evening.Here is schedule for RGM at the Illinois track.

FRIDAY , JULY 9th

Practice           12:30pm - 2:00 pm/et   ( 42nd Quickest )
Practice 2          3:15pm - 4:00 pm/et   ( 30th Quickest )

Practice Live Leaderboard

FRIDAY , JULY 9th

Qualifying           6:00pm - 8:00 pm/et   ( Starting 38th )

SATURDAY , JULY 10th

Raceday           7:00 pm/et , greenflag at 7:46 pm/et ( TV - TNT )

Yes, it kind of seemed like he was asleep at the switch, and unable to do much but slam on the brakes. And the very last person anyone would want to run into. An unfortunate situation for all involved for sure.

RG said in his MRN interview that they were running out of cars in the shop. Aside from this one and the car from Atlanta, what cars have they killed? BL's from NH should be a relatively easy fix, and their RC and Speedway cars are in decent shape as well.

the car that was wrecked last nite was the atlanta car........the wreck from new hampshire was a complete rebuild....front clip rear clip -as close to a total loss as possible

I'm pretty sure it'd be a tough sell to get Rob back in that sled.....on the off-chance that its even re-buildable. If it is, I'd turn it into an RC car....seemed like it wanted to turn right pretty bad anyway

My first thought was, I believe these cars are insured ....they have to be. And in the cosmos I could hear Robbys' voice.
"This car won't turn, i'll show you won't turn....holyshit it really happened".
And thus we await speed factory and all get a breath of fresh air for awhile and I hope no bad news from the camp.

Self insured, Only person cutting a check is the car owner.
Personally, I think last nights car is junk, front clip for sure and probably diamond'd the center section.The center section is the foundation of a tube race car.If it's not square (carpentry term) the thing will never drive right.Strip the car of usable parts&pieces build a new one. And the car that Bobby damaged at Loudon was not damaged badly,maybe half of the front clip.Work for the guys in the shop ,but it didn't kill the car. IMO
