Just an FYI...with all this talk about road courses and montreal in particular I thought I would post some videos from off of you tube of the end of the infamous 2007 Napa 300 for those that haven't seen it or would like to re-live it. The entire race is actually posted on youtube for the hardcore fans but I thought I would just post the crazy ending here since that's where the most interest lies. You can find them in the video section.

Thanks for posting the videos - that was amazing. Wow, I usually like Allen Bestwick, but it's like he was told by NASCAR what to say. The announcers didn't question what was going on at all. Ambrose + Sonoma = Karma.
I never cared much for Alan Bestwick.
This still ups my blood pressure. Can't wait for RG to come back to Canada and settle this matter.
Forgot how much of a screwing that was. Still makes me ill.
....and still to this day you can still spin out a competitor under caution and that competitor will lose his track position because they didn't maintain a cautious speed...

what a joke....and an awful precedent....
could not agree more. I think the right call was made on Ambrose...running out of gas or stalling a car should mean that you lose spots. Being spun out by an out of control or vengeful driver under caution should not mean you lose your position.
I used to work for a newspaper. I remember watching the end of the race that evening in the news room. When RG lined up behind Ambrose on the final restart after everything that had gone on, I called out to the sports editor 'Hey man! You need to come over here and check this out! Robby Gordon is about to spin out Marcos Ambrose and get suspended for the rest of his life!'

The announcers most certainly got THE CALL from NASCAR. I get tired of the black helicopter conspiracy crap, but NASCAR most certainly had it in for RG for a little while after that day. If they made calls that make sense, none of this would have happened, would it?
That double-burnout is one of my all-time favorite Robby moments! F-ing awesome!!!
no doubt Robby did that so that ESPN COULD NOT ignore him.
Isn't there a "1st Place" banner for this race hanging up somewhere in the RGM shop? I remember seeing it in a photo or a video......

Anyway, RG will get one for this years race......
alan posted a photo in the montreal thread.
