Nascar.com is reporting that Robby has decided not to run next weekend at New Hampshire because of lack of sponsorship. Robby Gordon Motorsports will be running a car with P.J. Jones only. Is this true!

A Nascar teardown of the 07 would have been pretty costly to the team.
What even hurts more....this #7 is racing in NH this weekend...lol

"Here is another idea: why not lease out the operation to one of the better funded locals, such as Matt Kobyluck and his Casino sponsorship or Ted Christopher and Whelan? They could fund the car for the week, and do better top 35 wise by attempting to go the distance."

That came from an acquaintance on another board. Just throwing it out there.
It's always easier said than done.
Kobyluck has to be one of the most underestimated drivers out there. The guy goes out against all the cup funded teams and pulls off some good wins and 2 championships in the past.

This worked for DEI in the past with Steve Park...
Just had a thought......(and it kind of hurt) Down here in Louisiana BP is handing out al kind of cash for coastal clean up and restoration...Robby can jump on this bandwagon....He may not be able to put a BP on the car but he could surely help save the Brown Pelican or the Blue Crab and tons of marine life ...The main thing here is that Robby could help bring awareness to the Gulf Coast because this spill is wiping out families and their way of life on a daily basis....For all the commercials they are buying up here in the South I'm sure they could pay a little sponsorship for some national recognition.......
i think that Bp putting money on a racecar ,for whatever reason, would be one of the worst PR disasters in the history of their company. They wanted to lynch the CEO for attending a Yacht race.
And accepting sponsorship money from BP right now would be a hugely bad PR move for any team. That company and any affiliation with them is toxic right now.
Not to mention I don't think Sunoco or NASCAR would allow another competing fuel supplier in the sport. Kind of like Sprint vs. AT&T...
That and the speedy dry truck will be following the car around the track all the time
Does anyone see it like I do?......a 2nd place finish, rather than lets say 32nd, should be enough difference in money to fund the NH race???"?
I don't think they see that money anytime soon, I could be wrong. It comes down to sponsorship. Robby could run this race if he wanted to. If he has the cash to build a Monster Truck, he has the money to run a cup ride this weekend. I'm 100% sure there are other reasons besides money that is keeping him from competing this weekend.
