Fuel Mileage and Making the Pit Stops at the Right Time.

Is this Robby's year for a great road course victory?

A short fun quote from Bump-Draft

Whether you love Robby Gordon or hate him- he’s one guy about which everybody has a strong opinion. One thing for sure: he’s his own guy and there’s not another driver in NASCAR like him. He’s a racer’s racer.

Someone once said of Tony Stewart, that he could put four wheels on a cockroach and win a race with it. Robby Gordon would be right there with him….running a special off-road edition cockroach and pushing Smoke all the way home.

His way may not always be right, but it’s his way.

Imo....I honestly believe that Robby is Damn prepared for this weeks race at sonoma.

The real question is where will the cautions fall with regards to the pit windows and on which cautions do you pit. This is something that the Team Engineers need to wrestle with during the race but they also need to factor in the odds of cautions occuring after their prior pit stop and before their next pit window. This was something that Miles did at one of the earlier races this year and which helped the team to really improve the outcome. Tire wear and fall off is also important on a road course along with brake bias and brake heat. So the Engineers need to be on their game.

Last year, Robby was .9 off in first practice; .3 seconds off is 2nd and .1 off and in 3rd. So they dialed the car in late. Let's hope they have it right when they on load this year.
do you remember last year, Robby said
" the 14's track bar is all the way down, drop mine like his"

he was frustrated about the caution and he knew he had cars to pass
Here's my prediction for the race.2 GWC's and remember caution laps after lap110 are not counted officially, but they are still laps,so I predict a total race distance of 120laps, making it a three stop race. Pit at laps 30,60,90
Sears mostly has full course cautions
worst thing to do is overthink strategy. Just go with the flow of the race. call audibles if need be.
I thought you make a plan and stick to the plan.No one has ever accused me of being in overthinker before!LOL
All plans seem to go out the window once the green flag waves...LOL....
You are so correct, that;s why you say screw the fuel mileage and keep the brakes as cool as possible make the fenders strong and work their asses over on the restarts...........
anybody know if Robby will be one of DTV's in car this weekend?

Nothing better than riding along with Robby on those first couple of laps.........gives you a reaaly good appreciation for what a complete bad ass mofer he is on Road Courses
I really hope so. Maybe even the pedal cam......that is the greatest thing ever.
If there's audio to go with it, there will for sure be a 7 second delay and a lot of bleeping when Robby talks to his CC
Robby's decals indicate an in-car camera for the event... hope they put a "CUSS BANK" next to them to remind him about "F" bombs and "POS's. He, he, he!
Is there a Nationwide car in this weeks race?
