Edwards Gets 3 Race Probation For Atlanta Incident

Does anyone find it funny Carl Edwards only gets probation for 3 races.... Yet Robby's incident at Montreal was far less dramatic and dangerous and he gets suspended for a race?? I don't get it... I would think Edwards wouldn't mind the suspension because AFLAC pays when you're out of work.

NASCAR is starting to feel like our government. Only cares about the big businesses and could care less about the little guy.

NASCAR spent time to come up with a 3 week probation penalty? I would rather they came out Sunday night or Monday morning and just issued a statement saying "we have better shit to do than worry about Carl and Brad...they are big boys, they'll get it worked out"......

I'd rather see them (NASCAR) spending time on fixing these POS COT ....the racing sucks......

Carl didnt get probation for the wreck, he "Aw shucks, golly gee " one too many times...lol....

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think Cow said it best the other day. Nascar gave Carl his penalty in the race. They parked him for the rest of the race. I know, he was 150+ laps down, so no big deal, but usually when they take action during the race, thats all that you will usually see.

When has NASCAR ever put someone on probation for any duration less than the balance of the season, though? Can Edwards spin the 12 out again in a month, get another three weeks and then do it again?

Matt, NASCAR has put many a driver on probation for a duration that is far less than the balance of the season. Usually it would be probation for x-number of races when Driver-A would get into an altercation with Driver-B...although, it usually happened after the race either on the cool down lap, heading onto pit road, or one or both drivers out of their cars. Then, if the driver on probation did something stupid, like get into it again with Driver-B or with another driver or NASCAR Official, etc., the probation would be through December 31st...in other words, "double-secret probation" as coined by fans over the years.

True dat....I dont think for a minute that Carl intended to get BK airborne, but a lesson was learned and now maybe a future tragedy has been avoided because of what happened on Sunday. There is a time and a place for payback. I like after the race, behind the hauler..lol..Maybe Nascar will put a boxing ring in front of victory lane to let the rivals duke it out, all caught live on SPEED...lol...

RG did a burn out in front of the pack after he was black flagged and before the leaders came to the checkers... Ingnoring nascars black flag call and smoking up the track intentionaly. It was defiance that pissed nascar off that day.
