It sounds like Robby may not be running the full cup schedule, and that may disappoint alot of Robby's hardcore nascar fans. But what he plans on doing during his "off-weeks" has me absolutely excited. Robby says he is looking hard at running the Indy 500!! That alone would be awesome. But add in running the X-games rally race, building and (hopefully) running a monster truck, and running the Baja 500 & 1000. That is unbelievable. I am definitely looking forward to what 2010 will bring us as Robby Gordon fans, and I think it was worth the wait. What do you think??

I know a guy who started with Scott and then went over to AJ and has been with him for the last 15 years or so. Now he has some stories.
WJM ?
In response to a post a few pages back: We are never embarrassed to ask Robby for his autograph no matter what his NASCAR ranking is! We were at the autograph session at his merchandise trailer in Charlotte and there was a decent line there waiting for autographs. Being people watchers, it was interesting to hear some of them talk about Robby while they were waiting (not all that complimentary) but after they met him and were walking away - they were all saying what a really nice guy that Robby Gordon is. He was super nice to everyone - posed for photos with them all and made them feel special. That is such a rarity in NASCAR where most of the drivers don't even look at you while they give their autograph and one reason why we support him. Yes, monster trucks are not on a par with true racing venues. But a RG Monster truck will generate more fans and more exposure, which isn't a bad thing at all and certainly nothing to be embarrassed about! At least you will probably see more of him on TV than we currently see at the NASCAR races. Gauging success only by his success in NASCAR is misguided. That sport is fast becoming a boring battle of the well funded teams. Robby is taking a big risk in diversifying so much this year in order to sustain his business for the future; be it NASCAR or off-road or both;. He needs our support- even if we do not like all of his choices.
My Boat is a solid mil. too but RG races so what, thats what he does. Jeff hears your 35 cents for your milk money that got stolen from you.
dont know why everyone is bashing the monster trucks.

Almost every drivers best interest is to please the FANS, havent you ever watched it?.......Isnt that what Robbys good at?

like i said in another post, prob one of the smartest moves ever. Kids will be signing up for RG merch around the block after one season......watch

i know my kids would know RG's name better watching monster trucks than a borring old cup race (to a kid)
Building brands, both the RG brand,& of couse Monster Energy
Did you know that Monsterjam.com is rated #25,000 and Indycar.com is rated #35,000 of all us sites?

Did you know that Monster Jam is the second largest family touring show in the world?

Did you know that Monster Jam is on Speed TV right after Barrett Jackson and 18 other hours of NASCAR,,,LOL
No I did not, but now I do...thanks!
Did you know John Menard pulled his sponsorship from Vision racing and Tony George?
Personally I think if he plans on running Indy he will strike a deal with someone strong who will allow him some seat time prior to prep for the Indy. Let's not forget that he is very talented in an Indy car, but the feel and style is completely different from what he has been doing.

I love the Monster truck idea, he is so very talented I hope to see him build one from the ground up. You know that this would be a hell of a site. He can make a tin can look great if he so desires and this would be an awesome site. I am not usually into watching this type of "show" but would if Robby were involved. This would open up an even greater fan base to bring attention to his other endeavors. Let's not forget that Robby is the king of crossing over and since we are all devoted to his efforts in every series we will likely enjoy the effort and show he puts on.

Daytona will set his pace for NASCAR and he is strong there so we will have to see what happens. If he posts a high finish someone will likely step up and help him continue the season. While I love being able to watch Robby every week in NASCAR he is doing the right thing by not doing the start and park thing. He respects racing too much to play this dumb game. I commend him for doing what he thinks will keep him out and racing week in and week out. If he is not racing with NASCAR I won't be watching that is for sure...maybe I will switch back to IRL racing and watch the few NASCAR races he chooses to run. Either way I will always support Robby and his efforts just as I have for over 20 years. I do hope to see him run the Prelude again, course my heart belongs to dirt racing!
Rear spoiler could be a spoiler.... Both ways.
Robby Gordon in Monster Trucks.. Nothing but awesome will come from that.
