At the End of Dakar last season there was a huge discussion on who all the Planet members could or could not hack the Dakar. The Physical and Mental endurance to race the longest and hardest race in the World. Now, that we've had three of America's Best Desert racers once again give it a go the trophy is still not in America. BJ and Robby are both SCORE Champs and Mark Miller is Baja 500 and 1000 winner. So, with this on the Table what driver from what type of racing do we now think can Endure the DAKAR????

Wrong Tony Stewart easy
Sebastian Loeb. I'm surprised Red Bull have not tied him up with VW.
Def., but I thought we were sticking with American drivers?
psh jimmy johnson are u guys joking hahaha juan pablo . thats a joke. non of those guys could handel obviously they need somone with reall driver skills not no circle loop drivers or fast offroad guys that jus run over everything cuz they make their cars float over it all anyways... travis pastrana i think would be able to win on his first attempt.him and nitro circuit should give it a run
ya travis pastrana all the way next year
Really surprised with the money that other energy drink company throws at Travis Pastana that he was not considered for a ride in one of the VWs. Could be he runs a Subaru in the WRC events and that would conflict with the decision.
Subaru wants nothing to do with WRC right now. Ask Ken Block.
but they were buildin an offroad car last year... maybe in 2011 Subaru enters the Dakar with Travis. That would be neat.
Yeah, time to take Miller out and put Travis in.
I think with a 2nd place last year and a 3rd this year, including a stage win, that Miller should be safe.

VW has shown over the last few years that they have no problem making changes to the driver line up if it will improve the team. But that seems to mean bringing in fast talented experienced rally raid drivers. Not someone with no real experience at what they're doing. The closest to a no experience driver they've brought in recently was actually Robby Gordon, since he had no rally raid experience but did have the endurance off road experience. Maybe if Travis got some BITD and/or SCORE experience he would look more attractive for Dakar.

I have to think if Miller goes out, it's because they were able to get someone like Roma or Peterhansel, but they both seem pretty secure at BMW.
Now that would be cool to see!
Problem with Travis Pastrana is he is very much like Robby. He is not going to want to play second fiddle to anyone. If he is not the #1 driver on the team then he will not want to play. Sound familiar? Him and Robby on the same team would not work. Robby wants to be #1 and so would Travis and neither would work together. I think Travis has the balls to beat Robby and Robby did not build this team to have his teammate beat him
